Gatland turns to Hook – James Hook has been favoured at flyhalf for Wales’ clash with Scotland. Hook replaces Scarlets pivot Stephen Jones, while Lee Byrne occupies the vacant position of fullback.

Traille moves to centre – Damien Traille will start at centre in France’s clash with Ireland this Sunday.

Traille played fullback against Scotland last week, but has been moved to midfield because of the injury to Maxime Mermoz. Yannick Jauzion will only feature from the bench.

    PUFF – The ABs must be pooing their panties already. I am certianly happy the Boks aren’t facing the French in their pool games. The French have done well in the New Zeland lately!!!!

    The French have unearthed a bit of a monster wing – Yoann Huget… I think he plays for Bayonne, 6ft 2 plus and 100kgs plus and a good strike rate for his club. One to look out for.

    you just worry about your boys if they happen to draw ireland or Scotland in the 1/4 final stage…

    @puff(puff)-1: the tight five they’ve selected is pretty good, Barcella and Milo will have a shot at making the WC side but Marconnet isn’t as good Nicola Mas anymore, the latter is arguably the world’s best tighthead.

    @kaksioek(kaksioek)-2: can’t see them going for a foreign coach

    @carcharodon carcharias(carcharodon carcharias)-6: strong carry from Foden wasn’t it! he did the same thing to a lock last year

    Would be good to see Traille and Jauzion reunited at some stage. Getting on a bit but they made a potent centre pairing.

    Livremond has got to start settling his combinations down. Playing Rogerie (sp) at centre was crazy when he’s never played there before – well at test level.

    That French side got hammered in Cape Town by an average Bok team.

    Would the world-class nr8 and the up and coming 13 have made a difference? I doubt.

    @willievz(willievz)-11: The French will not win the 6N’s playing the way they did against the Scots. First of all they won’t be able to turnover the English for example at Twickenham in the tackle they way they did to the Scots and the scrums will be parity at most but where they have to watch out is that if the Scots can score 3 tries against them (and could have scored more) then England will be be able to do the same or more.
