The Lions smashed Tucuman 82-19 in a one-sided match in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
The match was organised as part of the Lions’ pre-season programme but would have done little for their Super Rugby preparations. They manhandled the Argentinean club champions, scoring 12 tries in all.
Lisandro Ahvalli was sent off early in the second half for repeated infringements, and the Lions continued to punish Tucuman errors. The tourists did manage to score a try of their own, but it was scant consolation for what amounted to the severest of beatings.
