Keo.co.za brings you the latest news from Australia’s Super Rugby franchises.
Brumbies fire Friend - The Brumbies have parted ways with head coach Andy Friend after just two rounds of Super Rugby.
The Canberra Times wrote that their information was that Friend was told he no longer had the club’s support. Defence coach Tony Rea will take over the role until the end of the season.
Friend was in his third year of a four-year deal.
Barnes ruled out for Saders clash – Waratahs flyhalf Berrick Barnes won’t play against the Crusaders after sustaining a head knock last week.
Barnes trained on Monday but team management have rested him as a precautionary measure. Daniel Halangahu will start at flyhalf in his absence.
‘The players welfare is always our primary concern, and after checking him out after training this morning we think it’s best to keep Berrick out this week,’ said coach Chris Hickey.
Waratahs - 15 Kurtley Beale, 14 Lachie Turner, 13 Rob Horne, 12 Tom Carter, 11 Drew Mitchell, 10 Daniel Halangahu, 9 Luke Burgess, 8 Ben Mowen, 7 Phil Waugh (c), 6 Dave Dennis, 5 Kane Douglas, 4 Dean Mumm, 3 Al Baxter, 2 Tatafu Polota-Nau, 1 Sekope Kepu.
Subs: 16 Damien Fitzpatrick, 17 Benn Robinson, 18 Sitaleki Timani, 19 Pat McCutcheon, 20 Brendan McKibbin, 21 Ryan Cross, 22 Afa Pakalani.
Rebels dock Danny a week’s wage - The Rebels have fined Danny Cipriani one match fee for a nightclub incident.
The English import reportedly stole a bottle of vodka from a nightclub in the wake of the club’s opening round loss to the Waratahs.
Cipriani said: ‘As my behaviour was not in line with our pledge, if anything else happens along this lines again, I have agreed with the players I will stand down for an appropriate period of time.’

@Transformation(Transformation)-4: Putting 2 and 2 together.
He is the one common link between the media leaks about player unrest at the Force, the Wallabies and now the Brumbies.
I said it earlier on the Schalk page, but I can’t wait to see the back of him. The Brumbies have Matt Toomua, Robbie Coleman and Christian Lealifano all champing at the bit for those 10 and 12 places.
While they might not be quite as good as Giteau yet, they don’t seem to show that same negativity that would impact the entire squad.
