Hook back at 10 – James Hook replaces Stephen Jones at flyhalf for Wales’ upcoming Test against Ireland.

Another change sees wing Leigh Halfpenny replacing Morgan Stoddart. Mike Phillips and No 8 Ryan Jones both will win their 50th caps.

Coach Warren Gatland will choose between Rob McCusker, Andy Powell and Jonathan Thomas after fitness checks on Thursday.

Harinordoquy benched – No 8 Imanol Harinordoquy has been dropped for Julien Bonnaire ahead of France’s Test against Italy on Saturday.

Sylvain Marconnet also returns at loosehead prop in place of Thomas Domingo, while Maxime Medard comes in at fullback for Clement Poitrenaud.
