NZ latest – McCaw to miss Bulls clash

Keo.co.za brings you news from New Zealand’s Super Rugby franchises.

McCaw to miss Bulls clash – Richie McCaw is unlikely to face the Bulls when the Crusaders host the defending champions on 9 April.

McCaw is recovering from a foot operation after picking up an injury in February. He was expected to recover in time to face the Bulls, but Crusaders head coach Todd Blackadder believes it will take a bit longer for his skipper to return to full match fitness.

‘His recovery has been a bit slower than expected and he could still be two weeks away from running,’ Blackadder told stuff.co.nz. ‘And that means he could be another week away from being involved in contact training – which means he could be four or five weeks away from playing yet.’

Williams injured…again – Ali Williams will face a month on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury in the Blues’ 22-22 draw against the Western Force in Perth last Saturday.

The lock was replaced early into the first half after his fourth Super Rugby game since his two-year long Achilles injury. Kurtis Haiu is set to replace Williams in the second row for the Blues’ game against the Hurricanes this weekend.

GH is doing his ‘reconditioning program’ in secret this time around.

Let the parrot play … Bakkies will look after his foot for him.

@poppa69(poppa69)-7: 2 from 4 (50%) is WAY better than 1 from 6! (16%) .. specially considering all the screaming in-between about how good you are.
