Aussie latest – Reds suffer Lucas blow

Keo.co.za brings you news from Australia’s Super Rugby franchises.
Reds suffer Lucas blow – Ben Lucas sustained a groin injury in Saturday’s win against the Cheetahs and will miss the Reds’ two-match tour of South Africa.
The injury puts the Reds in a difficult position, as they are already missing first-choice fullback Peter Hynes. Coach Ewen McKenzie will have to play another player out of position when the Reds tackle the Lions and Stormers.
McKenzie has named a 26-man squad for the tour, adding five players to the 21 (Lucas is unavailable) that beat the Cheetahs. Tighthead Guy Shepherdson, flank Liam Gill, scrumhalf Ian Prior and outside backs Will Chambers and Dom Shipperley will join the squad.

Luke Morahan in at fullback, done.
McKenzie went with scrummy/flyhalf reserve Ben Lucas at fullback to provide in-game cover for Quade (see how Lucas often played first/second receiver).
Morahan is the better outside back though, and hopefully shows his wares in the upcoming tour.

This will be a tough game for the Stormers. Reds look very dangerous. This will define the Stormers campaign.
