If it wasn’t the Crusaders, I’d give vd Heever a go at fullback. He was a fullback at junior level, and in my view that’s his only hope of making the Boks.
You don’t get white wings at Bok level anymore…

Kirchner never the same player ever since he moved from the Griquas.He had so much promise as an attacking threat back then.
Hope the same doesnt happen to Basson

Even Frans Hougaard in one game made more impact than he did in all 5-6 games he played in.barring the try vs Lions he has been anonymous at best…A “shadow” indeed.

Francios Hougaard is a special player, I think he will be a able to play anywhere from 9 to 15 except 10 and probibly be the best or second best in the position..imho.

@JA-JA(JA-JA)-9: Let me just add, not that I want them to do a Frans Steyn on him and shift him all over the park. He’s a 9 and that should be his focus but to leave him on the bench is just a shame.

@Deucalion(Deucalion)-8: I reckon if Zane is out we could do a lot worse than Shadow at 15- rather him than Wacko Jaco. It might not be such a bad thing having him run at the Saders from the back. I even think he might make a good 13 in future if he can work on his defence. He has good feet, and all the speed in the word to take on opponents on the outside. Just a thought.

I wonder sometimes whether Spies isn’t maybe too good a person to be a top international 8. LOL, but I really think someone must put a couple of clothes irons into an army balsak and lure him into a dark alley and moer the living daylights out of him . The oke walking out of that alley alive will be a changed man either way, whether it be Spies or his attacker. Either the attacker will be a born again christian or Spies will be the best motherf&%#!%* eigthman in the world. Now from my perspective, there are more than enough BAC’s in the world.

@JA-JA(JA-JA)-10: I must be honest I actually prefer him playing at wing or outside centre than scrumhalf IMHO. I think Mcleod is a better scrummy. dv missed a big opportunity to play Hougaard at 13 on the EOYT, hes unstoppable on attack and tackles like a demon

Spies is too gentle to be a top qualit nbr 8.

@stormer in a teacup(stormer in a teacup)-14: Yep not enough agro, cant even catch a cold and cannot fectch. Kanko has developed this part if his game and if Spies can develop a bit more his position will be without question.
Zane is a good full back but not a great full back, like WO good but not great. Pity because he had shown plenty of promise before the bulls. Yes he is way better than WackoJaco.
