Please go look at all the so called “rugby” schools: Paul Roos, Affies, PBH, Gimmies, Monument, Waterkloof, Grey PE, Selbourne etc etc….kids go to these schools as they want to have a better opportunity of playing at the highest level, Grey Bloem is no different. The boys go there for the same reasons….as with the above schools who also have boys joining them from high school or grade 10…THATS A FACT..but Grey Bloem will always be pointed out, strange!!!

The same applies to Super Rugby, do all the players there come from THAT province?? NEVER, so PLEASE stay true to your school…..good on you!!

Story of Grey college this. My age group thrashed them in under 14 and 15 level but come under 16 Grey starts to buy players. I was A team for under 14, 15 and 16. When we faced Grey at under 16 level they had about 10 new players on the field. Some of them I knew cuz they were from Grey PE who we lost to at under 14 and 15 level but the others…

It just goes to show you, all you need is a good reputation and some deep pockets and you will be a good rugby school. On the other hand I must say that Grey’s Facilities and coaching is wonderful! The fact still remains that they poach their talent from all over the country. I myself also got a offer from then 2 years ago but stayed true to my school.
