Maties recorded their third victory in six days in the WP Super League A while Despatch started the EP Grand Challenge with a win.

After beating Belhar (69-3) and Victorians (20-13), Stellenbosch downed Villager 23-18 to stretch their lead at the top of the log. Newly crowned Varsity Cup champions UCT also picked up a 30-10 win over Helderberg.

In EP, two-time National Club Championship winners Despatch started their campaign with a 57-14 trashing of Grahamstown Brumbies.

Premier club leagues have already kicked off in 10 provinces. The Lions’ Pirates Grand Challenge begins on Friday, with the Bulls’ Carlton League and the KZN Premier Division starting on Saturday.
