Toulon dump Henson

Wales centre Gavin Henson has been sacked by French club Toulon.

Henson joined Toulon in February on a short-term contract, but according to local reports, that contract has now been terminated.

Henson is reported to have breached club rules after being involved in an after hours incident with other club members. Toulon president Mourad Boudjellal was quoted as saying that Henson would not wear the colours again for “not respecting the code of conduct of the club”.

Henson has only played two matches since joining Toulon, and last played for Wales in March 2009. An official announcement regarding his future with the club will be made before the end of the week.

    Hmm, very interesting, the Sharks need centres and Henson needs a job but can he be trusted to behave himself.

    As a Sharks fan I wouldnt mind if he turned up in Durban!

    Given that it could be Hanson’s last-chance saloon, he might be inclined to behave himself. Rudolf Strauli should give him a call. The one thing the Sharks really need is centres.

    as seems consistent with the Taff-gene, Our Gavin does tend to get himself in trouble when he gets on the grog. This incident in Toulon is almost a complete mirror image of his numerous previous whereby he starts mouthing-off offensively to anyone in his earshot. Famously he spent a Cardiff-London journey with his Boyo mates when the language in company of children and vomits left in the aisles required the train to be held in a station for cleaning of the refuse. And the vomits.
