EP’s big names collide
20 May 2011
There will be some major matches being played on the EP school scene this weekend, including St Andrew’s vs Grey PE and Dale vs Queen’s.
St Andrew’s, who were 2010′s top-ranked EP team, will host Grey High. St Andrew’s have endured a terrible start to the season, losing 23-0 to Framesby, 36-3 to Grey College and were thrashed 41-14 by KES. But they bounced back with consecutive wins over Graeme College (10-7) and Cambridge (40-3). Hosting a strong Grey team will be one of their toughest challenges, but they’ll look to upset the visitors with home advanatage.
Dale against Queen’s sees a Top 20 clash, with both teams ranked 11th and 20th in the country respectively. This year’s best rated EP school Selborne College (third in the country) travel to Graeme College.
The Nico Malan vs Framesby game is also a big one. The two schools provided nine players to the EP Craven Week side last year – with two of them, Stephan Zaayman (Framesby) and Ian Groenewald (Nico Malan), being their respective teams’ captain.
