Montpellier shock Racing

Montpellier will face Toulouse in the French Top 14 final after they upset Racing Metro 26-25 in Marseille.

Racing outscored Montpellier three tries to two while the latter also received two yellow cards during the game. However, Montpellier still edged a win thanks to the boot of wing Martin Bustos Moyana.

Bustos Moyana’s was influential as he kicked 16 points via two conversions and four penalties – his fourth three-pointer in the 78th-minute clinched the closely contested match. Outside centre Sylvain Mirande and inside centre Santiago Fernandez also crossed the chalk for the victors.

Racing scored their points with tries through wing Sireli Bobo, flyhalf Jonathan Wisniewski and replacement lock Jone Naliko. Wisnieski also slotted a conversion and two penalties while inside centre Frans Steyn added a penalty early on.

Steyn will now head home a week earlier than expected. He will be given four weeks rest and should be ready to feature for the Springboks in the Tri-Nations in July.
