Toulouse surge into final
28 May 2011
Toulouse thumped Clermont 29-6 in Marseille on Friday to book their place in the French Top 14 title decider.
Fijian wing Rupeni Caucaunibeni grabbed a brace for the victors while flyhalf David Skrela kicked four penalties and a conversion. Replacement pivot Nicolas Bezy added another penalty and conversion to seal a convincing win.
Outside centre Marius Joubert’s Clermont delivered a flat performance as they could only add two penalties in the first stanza. Trailing 13-6 at half-time, they were kept scoreless after the break as Toulouse powered to victory. Toulouse will play Racing Metro or Montpellier in the final.
The defeat will be Joubert’s final game for Clermont after a four year stint and he will join the Sharks for the closing rounds of Super Rugby.

Won’t hurt the Sharks midfield….I still remember him scoring a hat trick against the All Blacks

Hooray, Marius Joubert is coming to the Sharks, maybe starting next weekend. I also hope that Riaan Swanepoel gets some time off the bench later today vs the Waratahs to show that he is better than Bosman and Jacobs.
Have your say
