Glenwood overturned a 25-14 deficit to beat Maritzburg College 31-30 in an exciting KZN derby on Saturday.

Maritzburg College were the favourites heading into this clash as they were regarded as the top KZN school this year and they had home ground advantage. Glenwood also weren’t enjoying their best season as they had suffered four defeats from their 12 games, including a 9-8 upset against Northwood last month.

However, the Green Machine rallied to victory by outscoring the hosts 17 points to five in a convincing second half display.

In other results, Kearsney beat Michaelhouse 38-17 in the other major KZN derby while DHS thumped Hilton 29-10.

    I expected Glenwood to win by more than 20 considering that they have 9 kzn schools players to 2 only from college.
