SA latest – Bash back, Coleman concern
12 Jun 2011
Keo.co.za brings you news from South Africa’s Super Rugby franchises.
Bash back, Coleman concern – The Stormers will ‘definitely’ have Peter Grant back for next week’s clash with the Cheetahs according to coach Allister Coetzee.
Kurt Coleman went off with an ankle injury in Saturday’s match against the Bulls, and so Grant’s return is a timely one. If Coleman doesn’t recover ahead of the Cheetahs clash, The Stormers may have to employ Earl Rose on the bench as cover for Grant.
Butch cited – Lions flyhalf Butch James will face a Sanzar judicial hearing after being cited for alleged foul play during Saturday’s match against the Sharks.
James has been cited under Law 10.4 (e) for a dangerous tackle on Sharks flank Keegan Daniel. He received a yellow card for the offence.
The outcome of the hearing will be announced on Monday.

@Cheetah 4 Eva(Cheetah 4 Eva)-229:
don’t know how long you’ve been a ovs supporter but do you remember;
- when ovs got all the good rugby players through national service – e.g. danie gerber, pote fourie etc
- when kovsies attracted a lot of natal players – lem, juba and swanepoel.
- when, in 1986 (I think) they had to play natal in the cc semis and complained, before the game, how many seats they had been allocated for the final. they lost! natal were b div in those days.
seems you should wind your neck in a bit and stop this whinge about the last sharks/cheetahs game. it is unbecoming for a big man.
all teams get crappy calls – sharks suffered big time last season in oz/kiwi – we all have to accept it. ok, we can whinge for a day or two lol

@ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-249: Good team, but no grunt in the front tight five
12 Jun 2011, 22:17 pm
Burger is not a captains arse and he’s proven it enough times.. make all the fckd up excuses you like Coetsee and Burger fck’d it up. Bulls played poorly, Stormers played worse. Stampkar my arse, Burger dunno how to win in tight affairs and it shows every time till its too late.
Burger gets in the way of the backs, carries the ball up and either offloads too late or too slow and nothing ever comes of his back line excursions, yet he’s in there all the time fcking it up.
If it were Koster in the back line at least something would happen as a result but with Burger we are fck’d soon as he handles the ball at first or 2nd center.
Take Burger out this team and you see it function with a proper captain running proceedings, problems at WP Stormers is Burger is the holy f’ng messiah from the winelands that has to be the new crown prince. If Van Zyl or JdV were captaining the side and Burger was playing impact off bench this team would not have lost one game this year. And we would have won this thing already last year.
Everybody gets blinded by his kamakaze stunts of vokmavoort bravery but it means fokol when we lose at home when we should never have done. Bulls were by no means superior, only in the head space were Stormers beaten, in their own psyches is what fckd them up. If they’d played like they did last 10 minutes throughout would have been only one team in it and it would not have been Bulls.

@JL1(JL1)-250:
well you right if he gets frustrated with his teammates that not a good captain, but there very few who not like that.
I however do not accept that the stormers loss was due to burger, not at all, one of their best players, the bulls and rossouw in particular, klapped the stormers in the tackle bigtime, elstadt was not half the force he was in the previous game, and there were a few monster scrum from the bulls in the 2nd half.
12 Jun 2011, 22:23 pm
the one major failing of burger is that he should not be in the backline carrying good phase ball up – other then that he is playing phenomenal rugby.
12 Jun 2011, 22:26 pm
@JL1(JL1)-252:
We got no one else for tight 5
We got
Blaauw – who handled Kruger OK
Liebenberg – who is more grunt than Fourie
Harris because none else and he contained Greyling somewhat
Van Zyl, – best thinking and leading 2nd rower in the squad, should be captain or VC
Bekker, – line out and loose playing lock, scorer of tries
Burger or Louw or Koster, – take your pick, if its me I play Koster and Burger or Louw off bench
Elstadt, a born and bred No.7 not a No. 4 and should be played at his correct position then you see some real grunt ala Juan Smith.
Vermeulen, can’t do all the hard graft work alone, that why we got to have Elstadt at 7, Burger or Louw or Koster off bench
12 Jun 2011, 22:30 pm
listen were;nt you and grant banging on all week about how the stormers were going fk’up the brekers, and next thing u got pie on your face, alweer of hoe?
catch a wake up.
12 Jun 2011, 22:37 pm
Who on current form should play 8 for the Boks?
12 Jun 2011, 22:43 pm
who was banging on you doos, if you were anywhere near here reading what I said is I said momentum was behind Bulls, due to their get out of jail vs Waratahs last week and Stormers penchant for going into their shells at home and under clouds of too high expectation and lack of self belief, especially under Burgers leadership and Coetsee’s blindness, but I maintained my stance of support in spite of my inner feelings that we were gonna come up short in the grunt stakes.
thats why I advocated all along get Burger out the back line and out of captaincy
Play Elstadt at 7 and Van Zyl at 4 and as captain or vice captain with JdV leading this team.
that is how this team will function properly. Burger is too fundamentally flawed in the cerebral dept when it comes to captaincy he simply don’t have what it takes. JdV and van Zyl do. But Coetsee makes Burger captain and then on top of it they devise a strategy whereby Burger must play ball carrying 2nd receiver in the back line which he don’t know for sh’t wtf to do with it when he got the ball.
Koster would be 1000 times better proponent at that function but he plays bit parts off bench, while he’s head and shoulders superior ball carrier and thinking rugby to Burger by 1000 furlongs and more.
This team
Aplon, JdV (c), Fourie, De Jongh, Sadie, Duvenhage, Vermeulen, Elstadt, Koster, Bekker, Van Zyl (vc), Harris, Liebenberg, Blaauw
Kitschoff, Fourie, Steenkamp, Burger, Louw, Januarie, Habana/Jantjes
would have beaten Bulls Saturday, I have no doubts at all.
if anyone gonna play the roving forward in the back line ball carrier that Burger has been designated to do then Koster is the man for that job, not Burger. And Elstadt must play his proper position blind side flank not 2nd row lock. Otherwise Burger can go to 7, and Louw and Koster and Vermeulen share 6 and 8.

@UK Bok(UK Bok)-258:
On merit – Ashley Johnson or Josh Strauss
But it will likely be between Spies, Alberts, Burger or Vermeulen if Brussow plays 6.
12 Jun 2011, 23:05 pm
@ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-260: Agree 100%. Strauss must be in SA S15 team of the year. I can see him going the same was a lot of Lions before him that deserve a Bok place, but not “glamorous” enough. How do you explain Meisiekind playing more than 30 tests and Doppies does not even get mentioned for a place in Bok squad? Same with Vermaak 2 seasons ago.
Loose trio of Brussow, Smith and Strauss would be awesome. Dream on, Spies has got the inside lane, despite offering NOTHING over Strauss/Johnson/Vermeulen.
Maak my bitter.
12 Jun 2011, 23:14 pm
don’t have much time for these so-called fish hoek,clifton,camps bay english speaking liberals who gladly and gleefully donned the nazi-loving sadf uniform to terrorized the black township masses.
12 Jun 2011, 23:18 pm
@Valkyrie(Valkyrie)-262: Goodnight then.
12 Jun 2011, 23:19 pm
@Valkyrie(Valkyrie)-262: You are on the wrong site Plonker.
12 Jun 2011, 23:24 pm
@UK Bok(UK Bok)-264: are you also a nazi-loving afrikaner or english speaking liberal p ussy?
12 Jun 2011, 23:24 pm
@UK Bok(UK Bok)-261: so whoever is having a run of form should be given a shot … maybe a new look bok squad every year. What about momentum, experience, BMT at test level? South Africa has so much talent that its a problem at times.
Look at Vermeulen yesterday, was more interested in pushing and shoving, than playing. So Strauss and the Cheetahs have found late form … where was he in the beginning of the season when they were being embarrassed by all and sundry? Meisiekind … will he seemed to do pretty well against what is considered to be one of the best centre pairings in the world.
Tall poppy syndrome.
12 Jun 2011, 23:29 pm
@UK Bok(UK Bok)-264: you will never silence the truth you plonker of maggot preportions.voices like valkyrie,et etc will never be silenced.
12 Jun 2011, 23:35 pm
@kevin w(kevin w)-266: So you believe that Spies and Smit should start for Boks? By the way, Strauss has been performing in a losing Lions team all season.
12 Jun 2011, 23:37 pm
@Valkyrie(Valkyrie)-267: Same maggots that have eaten your brains??
12 Jun 2011, 23:40 pm
@ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-256:
Last I checked it was Harris that squeezed 2 if not 3 scrum penalties from Greyling.
They won’t find a better TH any time soon, Harris also clocks a huge amount of tackles and rucks clean out.
Or maybe you just miss Mujati?
12 Jun 2011, 23:42 pm
whats this Valkyrie doos doing on a rugby site where supposedly they design the forum to discuss rugby, this poesie is more concerned with discussing Nazi politics like his bumchum exiled pseudo intellectual arsecreep doos he’s better off in Philadelphia where such arsecreeps harmoniously reside in pseudo enlightened exile.
12 Jun 2011, 23:48 pm
if it ain’t from the pseudo enlightened commie arsed left its from the pseudo afflicted Nazi arsed right, two flawed screwed up ideologies vying for a place in the heathendom self indulgent sun
Yeah hondo Harris does pretty well in spite of his low levels of esteem, obviously being a soutie don’t do his front row cause all that good, they simply are not regarded as the mothers of all things grunt related here in good old Azania or die republiek van Zuid Afrika
12 Jun 2011, 23:49 pm
@ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-271: I see Hondo is awake. Time for him and Valkyrie to bond. A match made in heaven I think.
12 Jun 2011, 23:52 pm
@UK Bok(UK Bok)-273:
yeah like I said in 272, birds of a feather tend to flock together, two extremities of delusion vying for some self ingratiated idiocy status out in the ideological synchronicity zoo.
13 Jun 2011, 01:35 am
man, reading this thread so many think its a done deal for the Bulls to beat the blues in Auckland (if it pans out that way)..
have we all forgotten that in 2010 (when the Bulls won the comp nogal) that they suffered a loss at the hands of the Blues IN AUCKLAND? (one of their very few i believe).. yes KKK, your Bulls dont like playing the polynesian brothers..
13 Jun 2011, 04:47 am
@poppa69(poppa69)-275: The Blues are on a downward curve, poephol69. The last game they won were on May 6 against the mighty Canes. Since then it has been heartbreak and tears against the Reds, Stormers, Chiefs, and Crusaders. Now get back in your Kiwi hole.
13 Jun 2011, 05:00 am
@kwas(kwas)-276: ooooh well said mamparra…
are you another Bulls ***** supporter who has suddenly crawled back out of the gutter you came from to become so vocal again..
run away fair weather supporter..
Dutchie wannabe…
13 Jun 2011, 05:11 am
The complete and utter kuk that is Bryan Habana yet again did not fail to disappoint our low expectations of him on Saturday. Dropping him is clearly not an option. He is as permanent a fixture in the Stormers team as the Crusaders fans at Newlands. Even if he dropped dead tonight they will likely stuff him, put sunglasses on our Bryan and prop him on the wing for next weekend’s game. Let’s be honest – can he play any worse?
13 Jun 2011, 05:16 am
@poppa69(poppa69)-277: Wannabe? No, poepies, I am the real deal. 100% real Dutchie from good old ZAR.
13 Jun 2011, 05:17 am
@kwas(kwas)-279: you mean
blond hair
blue eyes
gut like a hippo
nose ring
paints his face blue and wears bull horns on his head…
classy, dont lose that look… Id think it suits you..
13 Jun 2011, 05:25 am
@poppa69(poppa69)-280: “blond hair, blue eyes” … don’t get all romantic on me now, ballas.
13 Jun 2011, 05:37 am
@kwas(kwas)-281: not that way inclined, sorry…
but hey, now that youve come out of the closet dont you feel better? I guess its not just because of the tokoloshe that you keep your head buried in your pillow huh?
13 Jun 2011, 08:20 am
@charo(charo)-251: Jip I have been a Cheetahs supporter for that long. Shame, and I suppose the other provinces didn’t have military units, and Universities? Wind my neck in? Now why would I wat to dothat. The scales have been balanced in the pro era Charo, I mean with the Cheetahs being on the receiving end of player poaching for the past 15 years! We accept that, what we don’t accept is when a “supposedly” superior team like the Sharks has to resort to dastardly tactics to beat a supposedly weaker team, and are aided and abetted by a bad ref!
Then the “fairweather” (not all) Sharks supporters want to justify it, by claiming they lost a S14 due to the same reason!
The difference is, one forward pass (how many have cost matches anyway) doesn’t compare to a whole sequence and an hour of dubious calls, and downright cheap play by the Sharks. Chew on that before you telll me to wind my neck in!
13 Jun 2011, 08:29 am
@Cheetah 4 Eva(Cheetah 4 Eva)-283:
your boys got some bad calls in that game – no doubt.
but my boys got 2 yellows – probably deservedly.
not so sure about the “dastardly tactics” – sharks are bordering on “also-rans” this season and a bit desperate.
don’t know why you have gone on this crusade against other supporters.
the way i see it most decent sa fans are loving the revival of the cheetahs and lions.
13 Jun 2011, 08:34 am
@charo(charo)-284:
The informed fans are loving it….not the ignorant cane drinking morons that we often get on this site..
13 Jun 2011, 08:55 am
@charo(charo)-284: @Great White Shark(Predawn)-285: Cool, I will call a truce then! I guess I was just a bit annoyed at the way the match was handled. So I won’t discuss the matter further! Good luck for the remainder of the tournament.
Gooooo Cheetahs
