Western Cape boys finish tops again

The Western Cape schools managed three wins from the five derbies on day two at the Cape Schools Rugby Week at Dale on Monday.

SACS, Boland Landbou and Rondebosch claimed the visitors bragging rights while Queen’s and Selborne formed the core of Eastern Cape’s pride as they triumphed over Wynberg and Paarl Gym respectively.

Again, it was SACS who were the stars of the day as they recorded a 38-6 win over Muir. SACS ran in six tries in the convincing win while Muir only kicked two penalties. This is SACS’ second big win at the festival after they beat Grey PE 17-0 on day one last Saturday. Boland Landbou battled for their 21-16 victory over St Andrew’s while Rondebosch kept their unbeaten streak going by pipping Grey PE 17-15.

Selborne still unbeaten. Looks like it’ll stay this way the whole year. Only games against Dale and Queens to negotiate after the June break.

Selborne are having a cracker of a season seems like all the money plowed into the school and the building of the new GYM over the last few years is starting to pay off ! still proud too say they don’t buy their boys unlike some schools !

@Melchizedek yeah after the June holidays its the return fixture against Queens a game against Wellington College from the UK then Hudson Park, Dale Away and the big one against Grey High in PE !!! Should they win all their games it will be the first truly unbeaten Selborne Team in History. The 1956 played 8 and won 8 due to a season cut short by the Polio epidemic !
