Reds rewarded for Super form

Reds rewarded for Super form

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans has named 15 Reds players in his 40-man Tri-Nations squad.

Veteran Radike Samo, 35, earns a call-up after an impressive season, while reserve hooker James Hanson was the bolter in the group.

Injury plagued Rocky Elsom retains the captaincy despite playing only one Super Rugby match this season, while Phil Waugh and Stirling Mortlock failed to make the cut.

Daniel Vickerman is included as expected. The lock hasn’t played Test rugby for three seasons while he completed his studies, but Deans is known to be an admirer.

Waratahs backs Drew Mitchell, Rob Horne and Berrick Barnes, and Force No.8 Richard Brown were all left out due to injuries but Deans said they still remained in World Cup contention.

The Wallabies will announce their 30-man World Cup squad on 18 August.

    Ryna vrede will be worrying for the Boks…how many world players do they have…maybe FDP but in anyones admission they say Genia is it!

    I struggle to see how many other than him.

    Not a big issue for him, he is doing a great job to deny his Lions support…

    yeah these two dumbdoos expats sitting on the other side the fence one called prix the other called ponse thinking they know so much while knowing pretty much fokol.

    How many times Will Genia show you schmucks who’s boss, yet you still reckon FdP the one with all the class? How many times Schalk Burger get owned? Then ask yourselves the obvious again just so it gets to sink in you bunch of ignoramus moegoe moron dunces.

    Skoppie told you long ago Genia was the class act 9 on the planet, its taken you schmucks 2 whole years to catch up to the reality of it. Now Horwill shows exactly how to win a superduper rugby title, something Schalk Burger will never learn and never know for all his dumbass years of trying.

    Twatassed delusional expatriated dunces united. Get with the program schmucks. These pricks are sitting right there under these arsetralian arses yet still can’t fathom what’s quite cooking in the land of nod.

    Horwill schooled McCaw twice who schooled Burger twice, now do the f”ng math you moron moegoe imbeciles or the obvious just a little too far fetched for the likes of you expatriated anzac wannabe arsecreepers?

  • 55.Slartibartfast: Reply to this comment

    Ag skoppelos, besides your normal ramblings which makes zero sense for most part you have no idea which players I rate or not rate.

    But please humour me and explain how Horwill schooled McCaw who schooled Burger? Last time I checked rugby was a team sport with 15/22 players a side. Where does your other new hero Link fit into this little battle or does he not fit your current argument?

    @ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-54: Genia didn’t actually have a very good game in the final, other then obviously scoring that sensational try! I think Ben Youngs of England is a better 9 then Genia and has completely eclipsed him the Two times they have met. Agreed with you on FDP, he has had enough time to get over his injury and yet hasn’t managed to regain the form he once had. No way in hell though that PDV will drop him for the world cup, because of his and many other international coaches obsession with the need to have experience in the team.

    whichever way you wanna try bullsh’t yourself about it Burger don’t come close to standing in Horwills shadow in terms of rugby captaincy ability and credibility, not now and not ever, and it shows painfully and precisely obviously.

    Burger has failed to deliver every single time the crunch was on where leaders like Horwill stand up tall and rally their troops to the next level, weaklings like Burger shrivel up and fold under the pressure, and even turn their backs and walk away with their disconsolate egos rattled and broke in their own self ambitions ruins, while the team they supposed to be leading falls apart at the seams.

    Can’t even compare the difference in leadership stature between a Horwill and a Burger, like chalk and cheese the twain shall never meet in the same hallmarks where true excellence in leadership credibility gets weighed and measured.

    Else try keep bullshitting yourself that they will.

    So skoppelos, you going to answer my question at some stage or do I have to wade through more of your ramblings?

  • 59.ashampoopaloo: Reply to this comment

    in both the semi and the final Genia has made some mistakes especially with wrong options off his boot a few times and getting kicks charged down etc. But overall he is still way ahead of FdP in the real general stakes behind the scrum where his mere presence spells go forward for his team because he commands a kind of mature control over proceeding, yet he has got caught a few times under pressure making wrong calls and having kicks charged down.

    In SA the 2 class 9′s haven’t even been selected. They’ve selected FdP over Pienaar over Hougaard over Mcleod, while the 2 real class scrum halves who are better than all the others namely Pretorius and Duvenhage have fallen through the cracks and been discounted.

    @ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-59: Agreed. I really can not fathom how Mcleod got in ahead of Pretorius?

  • 62.ashampoopaloo: Reply to this comment

    you trying to be thick or what Koos?

    Burger got fckd up by McCaws Crusaders twice at home, twice he capitulated to Crusaders at home and once to Horwill’s Reds. And then to top it Horwill out rallied McCaw’s Crusaders twice in the same season.

    So when you going to own up to the fact that Burger ain’t fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Horwill when anyone is considering which captain is worth what? Or you still wanna live in your self mezmerised delusion regarding the non effect that Burgers captaincy represents in comparison?

    In other words how thick do you still propose you remain in such an obvious non comparison? Or you prefer not to open your deluded eyes to the blatant obvious? Of course if it were another schmuck like for instance Watson captaining Stormers it would have been a completely different agenda laced observation by you and these other moronic expatriated anzac deluded arsecreeps across the wide wonderful ocean, or you gonna be dismally duplicitious about such obvious irrationality in your non reasoning too?

    @ashampoopaloo(joel1yahoo)-62:

    Kom nou skoppelos, make up your mind! Was it due to the captaincy of McCaw/Horwill or are we talking about a team…you know, like in McCaw’s Crusaders? Can’t have it both ways now…

    Well done too, to the Crusaders overcame profound adversity thru the season off the field and lots of travel to get onto the field. Deserved finalists..!!

    @wallabie.(wallabie.)-41:

    Point about momentum from Superrugby I hear you but its not tantamount to Test rugby/TriNations/RWC success.Examples: In 98′ there were 3 NZ sides in semi’s yet AB’s lost every game in the TriNations, following year the Saders won second Super 12 title in 99 and AB’s failed at WC,2003 Super 12-NZ had 3 sides in semi-failed at WC,@004-Brumbies 2003 won Super 12 yet didnt win triNations,2010-SA had 2 sides in Super14 final and ended last in TriNations etc Plenty of examples of that so called momentum not correlating to success

    And I acknowledge that rugby is a team game and that Reds are not particulary impressive on paper yet they deservedly won Super 15.But again I say it doesnt mean a Reds filled Wallaby team will result in success in test season…Many a team have learnt the hard way the loading national team with one specific regional team isnt the blueprint to repeated sucess.Test rugby is a whole different kettle of fish as you well know.

    Reds arent the first team to win a Superrugby tournament with a less than impressive cast -on paper at least.98 Crusaders had ended last in 96-players like: Feek,Sexton,Blackadder,Scott Robertson,Norm Berryman.Darryl Gibson,Angus Gardiner,Darryl Lillee, Caleb Ralph etc were nobodies then-were one of the weakest XV’s supposedly going into to tournment.Only had Marshall,Merthens as their only stalwart AB’s.There are other examples too

    @mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-67:

    I hear you but hear this…The NZ sides have won more super titles than anyone else…who has won the most tri nations!

    The rest is shared between RSA and Aus because we dont win as often.

    Who won the Super title in 2007 and who won the world cup.

    There are going to be one off years where a team wins a super title but not the tri nations but it is consistent to say that super rugby shows a trend.

  • 69.goyougoodthing2: Reply to this comment

    @wallabie.(wallabie.)-68: Put it this way mate: I agree with you on momentum and at this rate I hope it stays with OZ as SA has zero chance of winning and to be honest, a very sick part of me wants to see what happens if NZ loses, at home. I think it will be the end of rugby

  • 70.mshiniwami: Reply to this comment

    @wallabie.(wallabie.)-68:

    Yeah true but in world cup years its usually not along the same “momentum trend” and secondly that same 2007 team(Bulls/SA) was abysmal in TriNations at home even with starting team and worse away.Ended last. Btu yes they did win WC but as many claim is was due more to: draw/Eddie Jones/Conditioning plan in 3N that “momentum” of Superrugby win by Bulls.

    @goyougoodthing2(goyougoodthing2)-69:

    SA has no chance of winning? Same thing was said in 2007 even after winning Super14 by Bulls.going in to WC SA were nowhere near favourites. in 99 when Wallabies won world cup Reds lost in semi’s of super 12 and wallabies didnt win 3N.

    Lets just wait for WC and enough of subjective proclaimations

  • 71.CSI:Rugby: Reply to this comment

    The ABs don’t have the best RWC record, but many underestimate their record at home. Only RWC title was at home. Australia have not won in NZ since 2001, and not Eden Park since 1986. Pressure of playing at home is always high, RWC or not. Like any other kiwi that grew up wanting to be an ALL BLACK, you’re playing on our turf now.

  • 72.wallabie.: Reply to this comment

    @mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-70:

    It was abysmal because the combinations were bad due to resting players for the RWC.
