” Cricket South Africa (CSA) will receive the results of a forensic audit next Friday.

CSA president Mtutuzeli Nyoka said on Thursday the deadline set for auditors KPMG to release their findings had been extended by one week.

“We were supposed to meet with them tomorrow (Friday) but the results will now be presented on July 29,” Nyoka said.

“There were certain interviews which needed to be done, but as they were conducted later than expected, the date was extended.”

CSA is undergoing a forensic audit after Nyoka had repeatedly called for an external investigation into the body’s financial affairs.

Nyoka won a court case and was reinstated in May after being ousted by the board in February.

An internal probe was held last year after CSA chief executive Gerald Majola and other staff were awarded R4.7 million in bonuses for hosting the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Champions Trophy tournaments.

Majola was slapped on the wrist and told to clear bonus payments with the CSA remuneration committee in future.

Nyoka then told the court that R68 million had gone missing from a CSA bank account.

The federation defended itself by stating that the money had been held on behalf of the Board of Control for Cricket in India as running costs of the 2009 IPL.

It was revealed in June, after CSA had ordered the audit, that three members of CSA staff, including Majola, had awarded themselves R1.9 million in bonuses without revealing the full figures to the federation’s board. – Sapa ”
