Monument beat Florida 20-11 to win the Golden Lions schools final on Saturday.

Florida managed an upset over the former in the Nu Power semi-finals this season, but Monument were too good on this occasion. There was more finals rugby as HTS Middleburg pipped rivals Hoerskool Middleburg 10-3 in the Mpumalanga play-off.

It was back to business for No 1 ranked Grey College as they eased past Pretoria Boys’ with a 63-3 convincing win away from home. The only other unbeaten team in SA, Noord-Kaap, also thrashed their opposition with a 91-3 thrashing of English tourists, King Edward VI Grammar School.

Affies got the double of Maritzburg College with a 19-6 away win. This follows the 55-7 drubbing in Pretoria in May. Diamentveld won the Northern Cape derby 62-3 against Duineveld.
