MARK KEOHANE, in Business Day Newspaper, writes the Boks gained more the battle in Nelspruit. Rather a scrap than a sensational effort against a courageous but limited Scotland. The Springbok coaching staff gained more because of the struggle against Scotland and there certainly won’t be complacency against Samoa. South African rugby supporters tend to be reactionary and very different in their reactions every weekend. When New Zealand struggled to beat France in the first Test in Auckland and South Africa were brilliant in patches against Italy many on social networks expressed confidence ... The Bulls are South Africa's best team and they proved it in Bloemfontein. The Cheetahs have been outstanding all season and they were as good on Saturday night as they have been at any stage. Still it wasn't good enough to beat the Bulls, who won 30-25 after leading 30-13 with 10 minutes to play. The Cheetahs finished brilliantly and deserved the bonus point, but the Bulls consolidated their top two league placing thanks to an imposing first hour. Pierre Spies was impressive as team and pack leader, Arno Botha was ever present and the No 9, 10, 12 Bulls axis of Francois Hougaard, Morne ... Read Article11 Jun 2013
Brendan Venter's appointment as Sharks Director of Rugby is a good one. But the decision to end John Plumtree's Sharks coaching tenure is not. Former Springbok and Italy coach Nick Mallett turned down an invitation for the role of Sharks Director of Rugby and Venter, formerly the head coach and Director of Rugby at Saracens, will start his job at the outset of the Currie Cup season. Plumtree remains the Super Rugby head coach until the end of this season's tournament but his contract has not been renewed. Plumtree is highly rated in Europe and will in all likelihood link up with a European ... Read Article8 Jun 2013
Rene Ranger was among the few highlights in New Zealand's 23-13 win against France in Auckland. The All Blacks led 17-10 at half time but France dominated field position for most of the match and enjoyed the greater quality in possession. However they couldn't translate the advantage in the set phase and at the breakdown into points. New Zealand defended well in a match of poor quality. France lead early through Wesley Fofana's try and it took Ben Smith's break to start up New Zealand's international season. Smith has been the form New Zealand back in Super Rugby and he looked a class ... Read Article27 May 2013
Kiwi Vern Cotter is Scotland's new head coach. Cotter will only take up the position in a year's time. He will see out his contact with French club Clermont. Cotter's appointment means that New Zealanders will coach Scotland, Ireland (Joe Schmidt) and Wales (Warren Gatland). New Zealander Robbie Deans has been at the helm of Australia for the last five years and current Blues coach John Kirwan coached Italy and Japan. Kiwi coaches have also been at the helm of Samoa and Fiji in recent years. Read Article5 Mar 2013
MARK KEOHANE writes the Varsity Cup in its first year rocked. Since then it's just another professional tournament. The Varsity Cup may have the innovation of doing a few things differently, but what was supposed to be a celebration of student rugby somehow just seems like another tournament, in which the traditional power houses remain the traditional strengths in the tournament. Much has been made of the Port Elizabeth-based Nelson Mandela University display this season and equally there has been bewilderment at how poor Shimlas have been. But it seems the old one two of Stellenbosch University ... Read Article12 May 2013
Marcus Watson scored in extra time to beat the Blitzbokke in the London World Series Sevens Cup quarter-finals. The teams were level 14-all at full time. Watson's try came four minutes into extra time. England won 19-14. England had the chance to win the match with the last play of the game in normal time. They were awarded a penalty and opted to take a drop kick for goal. It missed. Watson then rounded off a move after England had retained possession for two minutes. South Africa suffered further embarrassment when they lost for a second time in the tournament to the USA and were eliminated ... Read Article8 Jan 2013
Limpopo will play in the Vodacom Cup as a separate side for the first time this year. The region, which is a sub-union of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, has been granted a place in the tournament in its own rights to help foster rugby in South Africa’s far north. They join the 14 provincial unions as well as the returning Pampas XV from Argentina in the tournament, which kicks off in the second week of March and concludes in mid-May. The Polokwane-based Limpopo team will play in the North Section of the competition, along with the Blue Bulls, Golden Lions, Griffons, Leopards, Pumas, Valke ... Read Article27 Jul 2011

sooooooooooooo
a journalist exposes a clear cut case of
B S
and
FRAUD
only to then be accused of
“treachery” (Cheetah4Eva).
Where’s your PRIDE, people ?
There is only ONE local here who said right from Day 1 that he “agreed with the principle of the weakened TriN squad but WHY LIE about it ?!”
The very same blogger who gets castigated for telling it like it is about the Bok skipper, and always has.
So why is it that the guy who said “I hate the ABs” is also the very same local that I would rather have a beer with than all the other BSers ? Respect to you, G10, respect !

@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-97:
to be fair, i don’t think the concept is rubbish. i think they just need to tweak a few things, like maybe a pretty chick plus some really good livewire presenters and it might take off.

At least we can all agree about ONE thing.

As they say “In a democracy everybody gets to move the mouthpiece”. However, is it possible that we could have some meaningful and intelligent comments,
Is there any one of your miserable lot who could do a better job than say Erasmus?
The toilet is a more appropriate medium on which you could express your views.
27 Jul 2011, 17:43 pm
It’s fairly obvious why PDV doesn’t admit it, it’s against SANZAR regulations. If he were to take G10′s advice and tell the world it would likely put at risk the future of the financial stability of the SARU who would probably be liable and endanger the SANZAR agreement (which in turn would put SH rugby as a whole at risk).

precisely.
why is it so hard to understand.
you can debate the moral aspect all day (and blackie does) but, given what they wanted to achieve, there is no other way.

actually, you might be right
I’d give my left testicle to share a bottle of absinthe with Peaches. I’m curious to know what made van Gogh sacrifice body parts in the Pursuit of Truthiness.

I didn’t realise you were so absinthe-minded.
27 Jul 2011, 18:07 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-117:
it’s not about a fine.
they would face a lawsuit.
and no they won’t because it’s too late to prove which players where and weren’t injured and to what extent at the time the tour party was chosen. impossible to prove in court anyway.
simple.
27 Jul 2011, 18:07 pm
@Big Hit(Big Hit)-109: SARU are “liable”… Simple.

I have it on good authority that the 4 All Blacks rested for this weekend’s match is at some resort in NZ undergoing ‘social therapy’ from their wives and girlfriends.
Get on the phone to SANZAR now!

@Gunther is at camp Snordraad(gunther)-119: Um, and a certain interview…
And a “secret” training camp for the “injured”…
Jeez, Newscorp’s legal counsel must be sh.yte…
Come now…

@Black Panther(Black Panther)-122: Liar. Simple
27 Jul 2011, 18:10 pm
moral high ground…haaaaaah!
27 Jul 2011, 18:11 pm
PA
are you referring to the same 4 ABs ‘rested’ from the 30 man squad, or different ones ?
27 Jul 2011, 18:11 pm
HA HA HA SUCKERS … go to the keo homepage … 17 comments, 22 comments, 13 comments – then KEO drops these stories and is even posting himself. Amazing how this storyline all of a sudden has the numbers up and hits coming. In the high hundreds which this site has battled to get consistently for a while. CHING CHING
Come on keo, where’s the evidence, name dropping that you’ve been “chatting” on the phone. Name these players that are talking to you and giving all the details from a ‘secret’ camp. I’m calling it BS to get hits and until i get a quote with a name attached i’ll be calling keo a master of muppets.
Strange no other websites or journalists seem to be running wild with this story of a secret world champion camp without caoch and captain.

@deon stegmann just released his autobiography – deon stegmann the legend…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-123: Panter shagge.d the moral high ground (along with a coupla his fave bleating woolly friends with benefits *wink, wink* ) long ago while “defending” scallywags…

chill winston.
blackie is one of the good guys.
we have discussed his moral high ground issues and have been assured that they stem from his childhood experiences of severe floods on the banks of de nile.
27 Jul 2011, 18:14 pm
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-127:
4 so-called first choice selections Henry is about to rest for this weekend. A NZ reporter I had a chat with reckons we will see even more players left at home when they come to SA.
27 Jul 2011, 18:15 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-129:
haha ja, moral high ground must be the red light district in downtown auckland.
27 Jul 2011, 18:15 pm
I reckon Dippy Divvy is actually a Kiwi Pakeha with dark, fake tan… Thats the only way I can fathom how someone, supposedly Saffa, can lie or be a hypocrite with a clear conscience…
Dippy must be a Kiwi…
Simple

@deon stegmann just released his autobiography – deon stegmann the legend…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-133: “Downtown Auckland”….??? “District”…. WTF? Take any green field with a few hills anywhere with a coupla Merinos… Thats Carly “I think this song is about me” Simon Panty and his “moral” high ground…
27 Jul 2011, 18:19 pm
@PissAnt(PissAnt)-132:
put that to keo as well for comment. but it’ll be different because they didn’t lie? well they didn’t exactly tell the truth either.
27 Jul 2011, 18:20 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-124:
you are’t very clever.
to sue saru, they would have to prove that the injured players were not injured even in the slightest (and as I have told you before all rugby players carry some sort of niggle during the season) at the time the squad was picked.
A “training” camp two weeks later proves nothing.
Were the players taking contact etc?
It’s impossible to prove that the players WEREN’T injured at the time.
does being injured does not mean you can’t attend a training camp.
geddit?
nobody is going to try that case.
does it look bad?
sure.
is it against the spirit of the rules?
probably.
will it work out for the best?
who knows.
but nobody will get sued.
had the announce a plan to rest 22 players en masse they would have undoubtedly faced legal action for failing to honour their contractual obligations.
are we clear because you are cutting into my drinking time.
27 Jul 2011, 18:20 pm
@deon stegmann just released his autobiography – deon stegmann the legend…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-136:
In Henry’s own words, he could not give a toss what anyone thinks about his resting or management of players
27 Jul 2011, 18:23 pm
@Gunther is at camp Snordraad(gunther)-137: “You aren’t very clever” Wow. Be the judge, legal Meister….
The rest… legal counsel from Kwikfit…? ( if it still exists… in SA of course)
27 Jul 2011, 18:26 pm
PA
oh, so you DO mean 4 players from the same 30 man AB squad.
The Keo Kiwi Kommunity have unanimously voted that the AB squad to tour SA on the away leg will closely resemble the Wairarapa Bush Reserves Non-Injured team. However confirmation of those players available is proving tricky as the squad is rumoured to be training in camp in Westport. Well I smell Buller sh*t.
27 Jul 2011, 18:27 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-139:
do you understand at least?
actually I know the guy who started kwikfit.
I sold him a ferrari once
27 Jul 2011, 18:28 pm
@Gunther is at camp Snordraad(gunther)-137:
i dont think he’s going to come round to agreeing with you. i think saru’s legal people made sure of their row of ducks before this ‘accident’ occurred but your taking a dead horse to water trying to convince him.
27 Jul 2011, 18:28 pm
@deon stegmann just released his autobiography – deon stegmann the legend…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-130: Hey Numbnuts… you sounding like Dippy, SARU and Grunter… all in one package now… Hellsteeth

@Gunther is at camp Snordraad(gunther)-141: Understand… a lie…? Yes. Why the lie? No.
Just sink a few boolies chap… Then lying is shouldn’t be a problem whatsoever… You just can’t remember it…
But then again I’m not sure Dippy remembers his fibs.
27 Jul 2011, 18:35 pm
@deon stegmann just released his autobiography – deon stegmann the legend…(i_love_u_bakkiesbotha)-142: Ag feck off… like your man Stegmann from the Bok side… Never ever have I seen a more useless player in a Bok jersey… since Botha Rossouw…. But then again you probably enjoyed his autobiography… if he wrote one, that is.
27 Jul 2011, 18:37 pm
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-140:
As much as I am trying to understand your comment, I can not I am afraid.
The only difference between PDV and Henry at the moment, is Henry does not worry about offering ‘injury’ excuses, he simply does not give a rat’s ***. Both doing the same thing tough. Managing players.
27 Jul 2011, 18:40 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-145: who’s idea was it to take Stegman anyway?
27 Jul 2011, 18:42 pm
The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic…. JFK
Looks like lying is contagious…
From SARU… to Dippy… to Bok “Supporters” and “Patriots” to those right here on Keo….
Lying swines… You can’t justify lies by pointing fingers elsewhere…
Wake up… take the red pill…
