Kings’ PE base confirmed

Border, Eastern Province and the South Western Districts have formally signed a cooperation agreement with regards to the management of the Southern Kings franchise.

The cooperation agreement regulates the relationship, rights and obligations of the Southern Kings franchise partners in the period leading up to and during participation in the Super Rugby competition from 2013.

In terms of the agreement, the primary responsibility for the management and operation of the franchise business rests with EP Rugby. The Southern Kings team will therefore be based in Port Elizabeth, and all Super Rugby competition home fixtures will be played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. Whenever possible, pre-season friendlies and other non-fixture matches involving the Southern Kings will be played in East London and George.

Players from all three provinces will be included in the Southern Kings squad at all times.

Regan Hoskins, president of Saru, said he was delighted with the successful conclusion of the cooperation agreement between the three parties.

‘The agreement is another major step in our overall aim to bring top-class rugby to the Eastern Cape region. This now paves the way for even greater cooperation between the three unions, which in turn will benefit the growth and development of rugby in these areas,’ said Hoskins.

Still unsure what the primary purpose of this Kings side is.

Is it a regional team wishing to uplift themselves to their former competitiveness?
Are they going to be used to as a transformation and development team?

Oh well, good luck to them.

    Just a thought…

How come it’s okay for Keo to ‘eff’ and ‘blind’ on his ‘Keo TV’ clips and we get censored for tame words like ****…that’s ****, as I’m sure the selective Keo Moral Police will censor it.

    Wonderful news!!

Only SA Rugby has not seen fit to put out a press release or post it on their website as “Official” – this is sweeping the affair under the carpet and keeping a low low profile for fear of antagonizing the 5 Super Rugby Franchises – So this is why Prinsloo was in Cape Town yesterday at the Newlands Hotel dining at Bihari.
All playing at happy families when all is not well at home.

This is DOA and this kite will not fly until after 2015. Still …………….it is a start.

    Let the games begin.

Now who will the Kings play in 2013 or 2012 for that matter?

Kings are a continuation of the joke SA has become

Keo.co.za has always promoted uncensored views, but has never tolerated racist or crass outbursts. Come on guys and girls. If you can't moderate yourselves or each other then I am going to be forced to regulate the posts and enforce a registration process for comments. The choice is yours.

Have your say
