All Blacks latest – Sivivatu to miss PE Test

All Blacks latest – Sivivatu to miss PE Test

Keo.co.za brings you news from the All Blacks’ camp.

Sivivatu to miss PE Test – All Blacks wing Sitiveni Sivivatu fractured an eye socket in Saturday’s Tri-Nations Test and won’t be considered for the tour to South Africa.

Coach Graham Henry said Sivivatu would miss the Test In Port Elizabeth but could be ready for the final Tri-Nations clash against the Wallabies in Brisbane.

Henry also suggested that he would take a group of 24 to South Africa and would use this Test to give a number of fringe players as well as those returning from injury an opportunity to prove their worth. Dan Carter is but one superstar who is expected to step aside so that the second-choice, Colin Slade, can get some game time in a starting capacity.

Of those returning from injury, Henry told reporters that he was pleased with the progress of Israel Dagg, Richard Kahui and Isaia Toeava, who all played for their club or province this weekend. Prop Tony Woodcock picked up a minor hamstring injury that prevented him from playing for North Harbour, but he is expected to be ready for the Test against the Springboks.

Lets hope that the Wairarapa Bush Reserves have ensured the electric fences are all up and that the muffler-replacements can wait because we need these boys fit’n'ready for the trip to PE next week.

Do they get that hit-out against the King Country Colts that they were promised before they depart ?

Nope, I don’t. Did they play someone after France?

I see Glynn Meads’ boy will be lining for King Country Colts in the curtainraiser

thats Meads, ladies. The seed of Piney.

Anything after that will be a breeze.

    @UptheGuts(UptheGuts)-15:

We dont peak between cups – thats a throw away comment.

In 94 we lost at home to France
In 98 we lost 5 in a row
in 03 we lost to England at home
In the years 05,06,07 we lost at least once, usually to Aus/SA
In 09 SA beat us at home, and so did France, we also lost to SA in SA

We actually play very good rugby at RWC’s, and then along comes a team who has nothing to lose, and beats us twice, ie France, well done them.

We have lost to both SA and Aus twice at RWC’s, (Aus 91,03 and SA 95,99) if you think we choked then, does that mean both SA and Aus were not worthy of their wins? Yeah right.

Its YOUR expectation that the NZ team should win every match. We simply hope that they can. If you think we should be invincible, then the problem lies with you, not us.

Should another team beat NZ at the RWC, shouldn’t you offer some kudos to them, rather than gloating in a NZ loss?

However, when other fans do rejoice in NZ losing, it still pleases us to know that we are still the team that every other team measures their own ability against.

@KiaKahaNZ(KiaKahaNZ)-56: Almost like you, reveling in the disarray that is SARU and SA rugby in general. If you read on, you’ll see that it is the aftershocks of a NZ loss that I enjoy. And “well done and kudos to them”? You have got to be shitting me? You might rethink that. Suzie, Wayne Barnes, spitting on your coach. Shall I go on?

Vicarious gloaters, the lot of em.

There are more French-supporting Reds fans than there are Cape Crusaders, thats for sure.

and good morning to you too, GYGT.

@KiaKahaNZ(KiaKahaNZ)-56: And for the record…you flatter yourself way too much. I couldn’t give a rats *** whether the AB’s win every match or not. I’m more concerned with the SA performance or otherwise the lack there of. Your little country is not the center of my universe. Sorry mate

  • 60.UptheGuts: Reply to this comment

@Black Panther(Black Panther)-58: Aah. Don’t get me started on you…Btw, shall I go in the details of why I feel cheated having bought a ticket for PE, driving half a day to the match to see a bunch of no names?

  • 61.KiaKahaNZ: Reply to this comment

@UptheGuts(UptheGuts)-57: Who says I revel in the disarray of SA rugby – quite the opposite. Having visited corp boxes at Ellis pk and Loftus, where I saw many photos of SA v NZ rugby games from the past, I always expect these games now and in the future to be the pinncale of our rugby tests.

I express emapthy with your quota system, and having a token gesture as a coach, revel in this, I doubt it.

Suzie – no such thing as Suzie, that was Mains’ flippant comment, however an illness in our camp – yep there was, but we should have been better to adapt. Our game plan was too open – and the telling sign of that was England scoring 29 points against us in Capetown. re the illness, we weren’t right, that’s for sure, had you seen Wilson, Dowd, and Jones throwing up on the sideline, you would have noticed that the situation was unusually abnormal.

Barnes – even as a neutral friend of mine says, in the history of test match rugby, there has never been a game where one team does not get penalised for the remaining 50 minutes in the game. Extraordinary statistic that. But hey, once again we didnt adapt – we didnt choke either, we played a style that at the time we thought was confident in winning the game. We were wrong and paid the price.

@UptheGuts(UptheGuts)-59: Your enthusiasm knows no bounds huh.

Its not you specifically, but which other team cops as much flak as us after a loss as the All Blacks?

Of course you want your team to win, I didnt say that you didnt, but the way SA/Aus/England/ fans delight in our losses is far beyond the norm.

You cant live in your life in denial, and I never suggested we are the centre of your universe either, how odd.

then you’ll be delighted to hear that the Wairarapa Bush Reserves actually play in Green and dont have a change strip.

We wish them all the very best, they looked good in training when hosing down the sheds last night.

  • 65.UptheGuts: Reply to this comment

@KiaKahaNZ(KiaKahaNZ)-61:  You’re a funny man. So you don’t think it odd that the AB’s don’t concede a single penalty within the 1st half hr of a test, when the adrenaline is still pumping hard? And referees evening up the penalty count later when the game is well and truly gone. Or McCaw being warned for the umpteenth “last and final” time without sanction? Where’s the kudos bro? How about spitting on John Hart for once again returning empty handed? Or calling an inquiry with the resultant 400 page dossier to blame a ref for a result when othertimes you are content to take a win that comes the same way? You might be the ‘misunderstood’ Kiwi ’cause Wayne Barnes recieved quite a few death threats

@KiaKahaNZ(KiaKahaNZ)-62: Wanna know why? How about we get the impression you think it your right to win it? How about your team always seemingly get the benefit of the doubt, on the field and at the judiciary. How about when you do your silly little dance, the other team dare not move, by order the IRB nogal. Or how about you guys, in general, taking yourselves way too seriously. It doesn’t happen often, so when you guys do get your comeuppance once in a while, it makes the rest of us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

So GH will have Mcaw and Carter wrapped in cotton wool and not play in SA along with a few other 1st line AB’s…………mmmmmmmmmm, should we be calling them cheaters like the NZ media called the Boks? FFS the Boks at least said they were injured, but GH just thumbing his nose and not even bothering.

    Faaking hypocrites

@KiaKahaNZ(KiaKahaNZ)-69: Mate, you’ve got me all wrong! I’ve long made peace with the idea that SA will rarely get the rub of the green from a ref. What I’m saying is, and listen carefully now…It doesn’t happen often to the team in black. When it does, the outrage is astonishing. So much so that you forget about the times you were on the recieving end. Like I said, it’s your right

Not me as much. I might chip in once or twice but you said it yourself…fail again and it’s open season on everything black. You know which one I mean, right? What was I thinking. Of course you do…

I’m curious to know what will be the reaction if we do get up and grab Bill, will it be, ah well, it was in their back yard, or they still haven’t won it away from home, and its only one, as in 87 it didn’t count, etc etc

    Whatever makes people happy huh
