PdV calls in trio
14 Aug 2011
The Springboks have called up Pat Lambie, Chiliboy Ralepelle and Lwazi Mvovo to the squad for the final Tri-Nations Test against the All Blacks this Saturday.
All three players were excluded from the initial Bok squad for the home leg of the Tri-Nations, which allowed them to play Currie Cup rugby for the respective provinces in the last fortnight. However, they will now join the team ahead of the clash against the All Blacks in Port Elizabeth this weekend.
These call-ups come after head coach Peter de Villiers confirmed that skipper John Smit, flanker Danie Rossouw and fullback Frans Steyn were injury concerns. Mvovo’s inclusion indicates that Bryan Habana or JP Pietersen could also have picked up injuries.
Saru added that reports of Smit missing the World Cup because of injury are inaccurate. A medical report on the players’ injuries will be revealed on Monday.

Anyway, a change is as good as a holiday and our players need a holiday.
Nice chatting but, “Another Day, another Dinar” and all that so “hi-Ho’ etc.
Cheers

Regardless of our performance in this World Cup… from next year on our goal should be to beat New Zealand whenever we play them- AGREE

it seems now the pay cheque to go to a WC is more alluring than the pride of the Bok jersey. One just gets the feeling NZ players play for their pride and the Silver Fern

Does this mean that Mvovo will be selected ahead of Basson for the World Cup squad?
