Cooper cleared
28 Aug 2011
A Sanzar Judicial Hearing has dismissed a charge of foul play against Wallabies flyhalf Quade Cooper.
Cooper had been cited for an alleged contravention of foul play Law 10.4 (a): striking an opponent with the knee. The incident, involving New Zealand captain Richie McCaw, occurred during the second half of the Tri-Nations Test on Saturday.
Sanzar Judicial Officer, Advocate Jannie Lubbe SC, reviewed video footage of the incident. He also heard evidence from the player and Wallabies coach Robbie Deans and submissions by Cooper’s legal counsel.
Cooper admitted that his knee made contact with McCaw’s face but testified that the contact was accidental as he was in the process of getting up from the ground and he had no intention of striking his opponent with the knee.
Lubbe found that Cooper’s evidence was in line with video footage of the incident. He concluded that on the available evidence he was not satisfied on a balance of probability that Cooper acted in breach of Law 10.4 (a) and dismissed the citing.
Copper will therefore not miss any of the Wallabies’ World Cup matches.

All I’m saying is that the Reds got over the Saders in Brisbane and won the S15, then blacks gave some back in Auckland, and smacked the Wallabies, the Wallabies then went back to Brisbane, and beat the blacks by 5 points. Next round belongs to the Ab’s on home soil.
And what is that ridiculous rubbish Saffa bloggers are always trying to punt to male themselves feel better about not even being in the trinations race? No team that won the trinations in a WC year goes on the win the WC.

Well done to the Wallabies! After 10 loooooong years!
If that was any other team, the Wallabies wouldve pasted 70+ on them!

@rossoneri(rossoneri)-249: Rossi, I saw what everyone else saw. A bit of niggle ( players pulling the opposition into rucks) and retaliation. I also recall Ritchie throwing a few hay-makers and elbows around. If you deem that to expressly getting into McCaws face, then so be it.
Basic 101 of a flanker is to deliberately nullify the opposition flyhalf. On that note I would have to say that Ritchie came up short.
As for Cooper deliberately/accidently kneeing Ritchie in the head, I thought it a typical league style motion. Players lean all over the opposition, push their heads in the dirt and then trample (accidentally) as they get to their feet.
Not good for our game and hopefully the last we shall see.

@RugbyRulz(RugbyRulz)-253: Good for Cooper. He got one back this time, after being humbled in Auckland. What remains to be seen is what happens next round in the WC in NZ. I think the blacks will be up for it. Their fight back in the second half from 3 to 20 points is something that the Wallabies cannot just brush off, and further, Cooper may have just given the Ab’s and McCaw the biggest motivation for the next time they meet. Thank you Quade. Job well done.

@wallabie.(wallabie.)-232: Sure theres niggles mate, but have never Richie knee someone in the head,,,and if you say it was accidental your a liar. Cooper looked down to check the location and then looked up and away as he did it to make it look accidental, but dont worry he’ll be getting his dues eventually.
The noise that comes out of the Wally camp after a win is the same sh*t that Kearns went on with years ago..taking the bledisloe cup into NZ icecream shops with film crews to make a spectacle of himself…..
How Oz really view themselves was so apparent the day they thought they only turn up to beat Samoa….and get beaten up by Samoa they did- the same as last year when they won the wooden spoon game in Hong Kong and the **** they carried on with that day as though they had won the 3N’s and Beldisloe.
The other side of this last game is something that not one person has spoke about, when we drew even every single Ozzy ( management included) started to pis s themselves as they thought they were looking the barrel of deja vu again. As usual, all the knockers are out in force because we lost a game.
Heres a big QUESTION FOR YOU…how many times have you won over the last 10 years against us. Because you put together one game, one that you should play all the time, do you think it really has any relevance on the quality of the team that has dominated yours for the last ten years and do you really think that ‘One’ solitary win by five points gives you any advantage of the quality that has edged you constantly going forward.
You have a moment of respite in what has been a barrage of hidings, and even on that day with a five point buffer and your best efforts, does not even get a glimmer on the thrashing we handed out to you at the Garden of Eden.!!
Any how, hold that belief as it may get you through to the quarters.

In conclusion. This is not the last laugh. Not by a long stretch. This match has simply made the World Cup a more juicier prospect than it already was. Let the games begin. 10 more days people.

@rossoneri(rossoneri)-256: Yep some of us will be sitting here in couple of months explaining what we did wrong, how bad the ref s were, how unfair some decisions, the good parts and bad and either celebrating a new world champion or bagging the cr4p out of the Boks if they retain it, either way CAN’T WAIT FOR THE ACTION. Would love to see Portugal get another push over try against us, that was a real highlight for me last year and the guy who grounded it will never have to pay for another beer in his life!!
29 Aug 2011, 10:07 am
@captain fantail(captain fantail)-257: I think what stuck me about the Portuguese is how passionately they sang their anthem. Tears rolling down their cheeks. It was amazing.
29 Aug 2011, 10:12 am
@rossoneri(rossoneri)-258: Yeah seeing all the other countries competing and proud to be there made me realised how one eyed we can get down here in the SH..at the end of the day its a real celebration to the game we love and leaves quite a good feeling.
29 Aug 2011, 10:16 am
@rossoneri(rossoneri)-254: ABs are always up for it and as for their fighback… nothing new, it is their style. Wallabies were prepared for their 2nd half, Deans used his bench and finished on top both on the scoreboard and with 12 or so minutes to spare. Job done!
The 2011WC will be the most open event, any country can take the spoils. Favouritism is out the window as the Boks have proven time and again they can win against all odds. I don’t care for statistics, they can be interpreted to favour ones prejudice.
29 Aug 2011, 11:12 am
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-202: you wanna talk about offside now? Did you see the entire AB defensive line a metre ahead of the last feet, right in front of Barnes? I thought Kearnsey was gonna pop an artery lol
Can’t complain about that, the ref was equally useless both ways
29 Aug 2011, 12:19 pm
@RugbyRulz(RugbyRulz)-260: Hats off to Deans Rulz. Well played, and you are absolutely right. This competition is very open. I’m expecting some shocks and surprizes too. Aaaaaah. Can 10 days not move faster!
29 Aug 2011, 12:27 pm
@Atreides(Atreides)-261:
The Boks have been serial repeated-offenders, always playing over the offside line, and have been ever since Weasel White introduced the blitz defense. De Wet Barry was a cartoon version of what the offside was. Habana has merely continued the tradition, as has JdV who has to offend even more blatantly because he’s as slow as a pig in mud.
‘Cheat’ allegations from you and your fellow apologists are merely regarded as humour in an otherwise barren landscape of Ke’omedy.
29 Aug 2011, 12:30 pm
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-263: you didn’t answer my question….
Good to see Cheatie getting a bit of what-for, about time he got the treatment he deserves……and he deserves every elbow or knee he gets!!
29 Aug 2011, 12:33 pm
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-263: Sitting and watching a repeat of Bok AB game, man o man how many ABs can you have in front of the kicker
2,3,4,6?
29 Aug 2011, 12:41 pm
@Atreides(Atreides)-264:
Hopefully thats also the message circulating the Bok dressing room too. Mr Roussow certainly looked a bit dumb last year at Eden Park. As did Jamie Knee’slip.
Quades the 1 Citing that got away. This time.
Richie appears to be doing his job then.
Good.

@Atreides(Atreides)-264:
there was lots of things Our Wayne seemed to miss throughout the match. Like where to stand.
I love the way the Contortionistas around here suddenly morph in to French-supporting, Reds-fans that back the Wallabies – the trans-gender rugby-equivalents packing boerewors under their man skirts, like Helen.
29 Aug 2011, 12:57 pm
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-267: Lol thought the richie jibe would get your blood up
Wayne was pretty dire though, on both sides…he reminds me of those awkward dorky kids who always seem to be in the wrong place and don’t know quite how to carry themselves
These losses seem to have rattled you?
29 Aug 2011, 13:08 pm
That’s two losses for the AB’s and two lots of crying about the ref from All Black fans.
Seems like they are just like everyone else.
Welcome to the jungle.
29 Aug 2011, 13:34 pm
@Gunther(gunther)-269: same old same old haha…..
Moaning about refs;
SA = whinging girls
NZ = Cheated by home refs
Dirty play:
SA = filthy gouging thugs
NZ – Doing their job
Managing players:
SA = disrespecting sanzar & cheapening the jersey
NZ = Intelligently rotating the squad
blah blah bah

Jannie Lubbe must have been paid off by the Aussies. How he can say it was not deliberate is a complete joke. Just looked at it on Youtube and Cooper loks down on McCaw and then drags his knee into RM’s face. Could not get more deliberate if you tried.
Anyway the thief vs the cheat makes for some entertaining thugby!!!!
29 Aug 2011, 20:36 pm
I NOtice with interest that the Oz TV reporting believes that the knee hit was deliberate and that Cooper is is now marked as a “CHEAP shot” Artist and that he can expect to be targetted!
I played back the incident a number of times and have no doubt that it was deliberate.
His track record thus far;-
Whitewashed re the burglary and theft of computers
Whitewashed after the Paris incident
Whitewashed after the latest incident
He is bound to get his *** uppance and also I wonder what Bakkies would have received if he had done what Cooper did?
WATch Cooper and see how he reacts when he makes a mistake – it’s a totao give away.

You are suffering from some mental blockage ? You poor fellow you have my profound sympathy.

@Atreides(Atreides)-268:
I love it when you Ladies whinge about The King, it means the focus remains on individuals and not the team. It feels very similar to the “cheating” and “over the hill” claims thrown at him in the buildup to Soweto’10.
And we all remember how that ended.

@Bludeks(Bludeks)-273: Mmm as opposed to your rectal blockage?
I was winding up BP….was anyone talking to you?? Why don’t you butt your stupid face out of conversations that don’t concern you?
30 Aug 2011, 16:43 pm
@Black Panther(Black Panther)-274: The King? Lol…if by ‘King” you mean Brussow and Pocock’s new b i t c h, then yea, maybe
