Moody to miss opener - England captain Lewis Moody has been ruled out of their first match against Argentina in Dunedin on Saturdy.
Moody suffered a knee injury in a warm-up game against Wales and has been in a race for fitness since. ‘Lewis won’t play at the weekend,’ said England coach Martin Johnson. ‘He is not quite ready to go today. We hoped he would be fit to start training but he is not quite there.
‘The medics and the fitness guys take him through a progression of training and we hoped it would all be ready to go today but he is just a little bit short.’
Mike Tindall will captain England in Moody’s absence, while James Haskell will play at openside.
Pumas’ best to face England – Argentina have named their strongest possible 22 for their opener against England on Saturday.
Coach Santiago Phelan made just one change from the one which faced Wales in their final warm-up game in Cardiff last month, with Gonzalo Tiesi taking over at outside centre from Marcelo Bosch.
