Castro benched - Tighthead Martin Castrogiovanni has been dropped to the reserves for Italy’s match against Russia on Tuesday.
Coach Nick Mallett has made 12 changes in all. Only captain Sergio Parisse, fullback Andrea Masi and back Tommaso Benvenuti, who has moved from wing to outside centre, have been retained in the starting XV.
