Keo.co.za brings you World Cup news from Pool D.
Fijian banned for Lambie tip tackle – Fiji flanker Dominiko Waqaniburotu has copped a three-week suspension for his tip tackle on Pat Lambie in the latter stages of the Springboks’ 49-3 win last Saturday.
Waqaniburotu’s sentence was confirmed on Tuesday by judicial officer Christopher Quinlan of England. The 25-year-old will miss Fiji’s final fxitures against Samoa and Wales and can only resume playing on 10 October.
Waqaniburotu is the second player at the World Cup to be banned. England lock Courtney Lawes was suspended for two matches for striking Argentina hooker Mario Ledesma with his knee.

Good. Should’ve been a yellow. And who was the idiots who dropped Schalk on his head? Ban them as well

What about that Fiji centre who launched a Twitter attack against the IRB, asking them to ban him …. if they dared.

@rangerman(rangerman)-3: I know it was around the 78th min. Kinda daft to do that.
Pleased justice is done and he got a ban though.

@UptheGuts(UptheGuts)-1: I think Schalk bailed over one of the Bok forwards, he was not taken out by a Fijian.

@RL(RL)-5: The Samoan clearly lost it, reasoning in a “familiar” manner. He called it Holocaust, Slavery and Apartheid! I am surprised that Imperialism was not also thrown in. It was unfortunate and I think that his childish Twitter would have embarrassed his nation and his team. Samoa may well have received the short end of the stick but the response was way out of line – but it seems like it is being overlooked by the IRB and RWC (good to see them showing some charity).
