Pool A latest – Read ready for action

Keo.co.za brings you the latest World Cup news from Pool A.

Read ready for action – Kieran Read is expected to be available for the All Blacks’ final pool match against Canada on Sunday.

All Blacks assistant coach Steve Hansen is confident the No 8 will make a full recovery from his ankle injury and start in Wellington.

The other bit of good news for New Zealand is that three of the four players injured in Saturday’s win over France will be available to play Canada. Israel Dagg (thigh), Adam Thomson (knee, ankle) and Cory Jane (head knock) are all on the mend, but Richard Kahui (hamstring ) won’t be risked.

and NOW we can agree !

seriously, I dont think even Lievremont knows his ‘A’ team. Having watched and read and absorbed 6Nations for last 17 years, noone here can seriously – ever – say who the France ‘A’ team is. Theyve got SO MUCH talent, fer starters. And its in their blood, their inner-Frenc’ness, to always be tampering and be more ‘clever’ than the last coach.

That aside, the France team who played ABs on Saturday was no more than 3 or 4 of what I would regard as their very best. And that doesnt equate to ‘B’….

doos brain, we have already worked out that it was the NZ press who started with the French B team stuff, not the Saffas, so go whinge elsewhere ………..

    Whatever

saffas claim the 18-5 win over the ABs

yet none will admit it was a B team. but the French team was? lmfao.

ok then, like a pair of brand new jandals, Saffa fans flip flop so effortlessly.

Big Brad very rarely goes down injured so no problem there, Whitelock was superb against the Frogs so thankfully we are well covered at lock, with Read back the pack will be humming.

    What u on about?

SA fielded a heavily weakened team in Oz and we got beat then in SA Boks and set piece were all over Oz,lost due to rustiness & diabolical decision to put Smit at 3 for last 15 mins.Otherwise Boks owned all categories at KingsPark barring the scoreboard-fair enough.Bok to say “comfortably” is disingenuous.

And if Livriemont new HOW to pick consistently as he did early in his tenure as French coach then he would mount a challenge instead of sttupid sh*t like Parra at 9,a rookie tighthead,Servat is twice the player Szarzewski is,Harinodiquoy in for the invisible Bonaire,Marty at TRUE 13 instead of wing retread Rougerie etc

And Bok fans had specifically said that PE team was more of a B team AB team than A test team leading up to game. Then BP and co. Came up with the expanded 22 theory-we stand by our own blah blah etc meanwhile earlier in 3N it was no mass changes in team were to be made & premier 8? Was going to be played-pride the silverfern blah etc

Boks beat AB’s in PE,but it was the premier AB team.finish and klaar

NZ beat Boks in NZ and it was nowhere bear Bok A team

In 2011 Boks A vs NZ A are yet to meet.

    Pretty simple.

@Black Panther(Black Panther)-48: although the Bokkes have dropped a few games against 2nd tier nations such as ireland in recent years, these losses have always been on EOYT’s to the Northern Hemisphere, when Bok playing stocks have been depleted. A close to full strength Bok side, as will turn out in the QF, would IMHO beat Ireland or Wales 9 times out of 10.

The only teams the Boks have lost to in a WC are Australia in 1999, and the All Blacks in 2003. Their squad and will to win is far to strong to see them lose to anyone but to one of the big 5.

Although Aus will fancy their chances in the semi based on the 2-zip record this year, I think the Boks will be feeling very confident after watching the Ireland-Aus game. Forwards too strong, defence too strong, and goal kicking too good, for the Aussies to burgle this one.

I am picking an AB/Bok semi, which I see as a 50/50 proposition at present (but injuries in the lead up to that game will most like have an influence).

@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-57: Agree with your analysis – tho I assume you mean that the AB’s in PE WEREN’T the premier team.

If the AB’s and Boks meet in the semi’s, we may not see two A teams play each other due to injuries. But I am damn sure we will see the best teams selected, and both sides go at each other 100%. The AB’s will be desperate to win, and Bok teams NEVER give less than 100 in the big games.

If it happens, it will be massive!!

    @poppa69(poppa69)-50: Desperation?

You haven’t won a WC proper.

And you come on this site to get your ego brushed by Saffas.

    Who is the desperate one…

    willie

to get my ego brushed??? lmao. it’s Saffas that want their egos brushed.
2 wins in your last 10 3ns games tells us who is where mate. keep clinging to the only stat you have currently better than the ABs.

when you lose the 1/4 to Aus, which apparently is already won according to the majority on this blog, I’m going to laugh and laugh and laugh.
