Coenie blow for Cheetahs – Cheetahs prop Coenie Oosthuizen has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The 22-year-old injured his neck during the 25-25 draw against the Lions last weekend and will undergo surgery on Tuesday. Cheetahs doctor Ian Morris confirmed that he’ll miss the rest of the Currie Cup, but should recover in time for next year’s Super Rugby campaign.
Tighthead prop WP Nel is set to replace Oosthuizen in the front row.
Young flyhalf Johan Goosen is also out, but he will only miss the trip to the Pumas and is set to return for the last-round tie against Griquas. Sias Ebersohn will wear the No 10 jersey this weekend.
