@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-5:
Ross Skeate adds much needed physicality in that forward pack. Without him they’re stuck with 5 locks who really don’t get involved in anything else. Skeate the best lock in Natal at the moment.
Also a bit harsh getting rid of Meyer Bosman. I’m no big fan but I wouldn’t get rid of him until Paul Jordaan comes through, and then negotiate a smaller contract for Bosman (who can act as reserve/cover).
I’d agree with the rest though, but include Adi Jacobs.
I’m not convinced about Piet Lindeque. Sharks need to find a quality clear first-choice centre.

@hendrikp(hendrikp)-6:
I would keep Adi Jacobs ANY DAY ahead of Bosman. Better player STILL even in twilight of his career.Better than Bosman,JLP,Terblanche,Joubert etc If there was one to keep it would be Adi,far better squad player and impact player.
Skeate?? What physicality? Dude is a wet noodle just above Hargreaves.Would rather invest time and resources to a young lock or continue with Jean Deysel experiment at no.4 lock,very much in the Thorn mould.

@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-5:
Interesting that all of those players you mentioned were acquired at some stage by the Sharks, and most of them quite recently.
Perhaps they need to look at their talent identification structures locally.

@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-7:
The Sharks have been thin in the second row for quite some time now.
Unless they find locks of a more mongrel calibre, and soon, they are better off selecting two athletic locks and playing a helter-skelter game than a tight structured one.

@willievz(willievz)-9:
I like how they’re playing Deysel at 4. Suggested it a couple of months ago but everyone told me he was too short, and that maybe Willem Alberts should play there.
I think he could do a very good job for them at 4. He plays that straight-forward sort of game you expect from a lock, and allows Willem Alberts to play in his best position of blindside flanker.
Maybe with Bresler at 5? Think the Sharks pack actually looks really good, especially if they work on their game ‘on the ground’.

@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-5:
Yes to all of those. Exception maybe being Bosman. Poor guy has been playing 12 to Terblanche all his Sharks life. Im very interested to see how him and Adi go.
Jordaan needs to be brought into the mix now. Scored a cracker against WP last weekend. Lindeque went off injured so not sure if hes available.

@mshiniwami(mshiniwami)-5: Thought Joubert and Skeate was okay last week , ag man maybe I am just bias cos they both WP manne
Have your say
