Tindall out, Flood in
6 Oct 2011
Mike Tindall will not feature in Saturday’s quarter-final against France while Jonny Wilkinson has been retained at No 10.
Wilkinson has kicked poorly in this tournament and, as seen by England’s most recent game against Scotland, has battled to bring his backline into the game. Toby Flood provided the Poms with more impetus in the second half of that clash, and also held his nerve to kick a difficult conversion.
Manager Martin Johnson has, however, kept Wilkinson in the starting side for Saturday’s ‘Le Crunch’ at Eden Park. Flood comes in at No 12 for the injured Tindall.
Johnson has made changes to his pack, bringing Nick Easter in at No 8 and Tom Palmer in at lock. Mark Cueto replaces the suspended Delon Armitage on the wing.
England – 15. Ben Foden, 14. Chris Ashton, 13. Manu Tuilagi, 12. Toby Flood, 11. Mark Cueto, 10. Jonny Wilkinson, 9. Ben Youngs, 8. Nick Easter, 7. Lewis Moody (c), 6. Tom Croft, 5. Tom Palmer, 4. Louis Deacon, 3. Dan Cole, 2. Steve Thompson, 1. Matt Stevens.
Subs: 16. Dylan Hartley, 17. Alex Corbisiero, 18. Courtney Lawes, 19. Simon Shaw, 20. James Haskell 21. Richard Wigglesworth, 22. Matt Banahan.

Its about time,Tindall is rubbish
Still no Brad Barritt…not even on radar
Matt Stevens had a torrid time last week vs Euan Murray.Nicolas Mas very good in scrum,he better step up.
Same old slow, geriatric England…But France are rubbish so they should take this.

Good day long time no chat.
England just have a way of making the finals and they will do so again. Lady luck seems to like this team very much and this time they are lucky the French`s WC campaign is a nightmare already.
If they reach the final it will only be because of luck and good fortune, nothing else.
Have your say
