So here I am……..missed the entire Bok campaign – didn’t bother to watch pool games, too much work, then sets the Time Warner cable receiver to record SA vs Oz – get back from vacation – only to realise NOTHING taped, channel was offline.

We don’t need to rebuild. We need transition. If we had been replacing and updating personnel as we should have in the last four years we have very little need for change. The main difference between now and 2003 is that our provincial franchises are more professionally run and the coach had more polished players to choose from. What we fo need is s coach with s clue, with conviction and a gameplan. Four years in neutral cannot be repeated.

Also, which international coach would work within the ANC strict counter-apartheid rules?
Can you imagine John Mitchell getting tuned he must select 4 POC’s…..yeah right. And that aspect will be a non negotiable part of the job description

No we don’t need Jake again. For all the good he did he is one dimensioned in his approach and there is a reason we change coaches and that reason is to bring new ideas and ways of thinking. We need a coach who can take the Boks and teach them to play clever rugby again. Not just battering ram dom rugby. We need a coach who will teach our players to think about what they are doing and not just kyk noord en v*k voord, a coach who can guide players to making decisions on the run in pressure situations and a coach who can teach our players to adapt to the situation. It may well be time to bring in, possibly an international coach like Eddie Moans but if we have to pick a South African coach then if he would ever consider it again Nick Mallet should be on that list. I hope however unlikely as it may be that this change involves the change of administration as well because they need to carry some of the burden as well.

Devilliers the King of stupid speech. The whole world reported he quit, now we discover he is still the coach. He can’t even leave properly. The only thing that saved our coaching staff a lashing was the terrible ref. Our boys were the best but there was no coach plan to unlock the Aussies and open the scoreboard. Imagine if Deans was the Bok coach. The score would have read. SA 45 AU 11.

We need someone like Jake to rebuild. A talent builder is required as the retirements of older players will stream in. Although Jakes team did not go far this WC it is notable that the bulk of his team were still playing in 2011. SA needs a finder and builder of talent.
