Wallabies wait on Beale

Injured fullback Kurtley Beale didn’t train with the Wallabies on Wednesday but his captain is confident that he will be ready for Sunday’s semi-final at Eden Park.

Beale aggravated a hamstring injury in last week’s game against South Africa. He has been unable to train thus far this week, but James Horwill is confident that he will be ready by the weekend. The same applies to prop Sekope Kepu, who is currently battling an ankle sprain.

Centre Pat McCabe, who sustained a shoulder injury in the quarter-final, has returned to training.

    Excellent. Weakened opposition. TAB still has Mighty All Blacks paying $1.30 for the win and Oz paying $3.00. Looks like 24 years without Webb Ellis is a step closer. (but not until Saint Ritchie holds Webb Ellis aloft about 10:30 pm local time on 23 Oct 2011

    Yes, I can’t see Beale missing this for quids. He will go out there with more strapping than Magne if needed.

    @Monty(Monty)-2:

    Monty, you are getting ahead of yourself, even with that subtle little rider.

    We thought that same way back in 2003, and the only thing we took away from that semi was George Gregan’s chirp ringing in our ears – 4 more years!

    Besides, I would rather we won against a full strength team than have the Aussies belittle the effort because they were handicapped.

    @Brads(Brads)-4: Geez Brad, some in Australia and New Zealand would argue we are handicapped… we’ve got Cooper. :D

    Certainly hope Beale plays, sensational player in great form. Rather watch ALL the best players than hope like a coward (hi, KKK, hows solitary confinement ?) for a weakened opposition.
