Kia, thanks for the explanation, only saw it now and is in line with what I remember at the time. I also agree that maybe it should be looked at/altered to cater for a much wider audience than just Kiwis, it is a global sport after all.

I know knobbie took exception to what I said, or more specific what my wife said about it but like I said he is missing the point, when it starts to have a negative impact on others it is maybe time to rethink.

You know SA have some weird and wonderful traditions but sometimes it is better left in the proper location and time and not on a sporting field

@spartan(spartan)-762: Spartan, good point but I suppose the other side of the story is how many penalisable offecens did the AB’s commit against France that weren’t penalised?

@Skeppie(Skeppie)-803 All I’ll say is the majority of misses by Barnes went against the ABs
Mcallister binned for what I believe was holding his line
Then we had the forward pass
followed by what Barnes incorrectly adjudicated as 40 minutes of perfect French discipline
so in my opinion we got done over by a ref that was out of his depth
Lawrence had a bad game but missed illegalities from both teams (although the Boks definitely got robbed )as opposed to the Cardiff debacle.

@spartan(spartan)-804: I suppose you would know better than me, I watched the game but I suppose did not really pick up all the detail in terms of reffing. The pass was obviously forward though. My issue with the Bok V Aus game was the fact that our momentum was always halted and truth be told we are not the best exponents of a free flowing possesion based game, we tried this approach in the QF and it should have paid off but all our momentum was halted with the 10 turnovers. I am still confuzzled as to why BL didn’t favour rhe side in possesion which all refs should these days. Regardless its over now, I suspect his performace wasn’t as bad as most Saffas are making out but it certainly wasn’t good and I am pretty sure all in all it favoured the aussies more than the boks

    Ask me, I’m right here!

@Skeppie(Skeppie)-806: With Morne Steyn in your team each infringement that was ignored by BL cost the Boks some serious points
The sad truth is that the Aussies got away with murder at the breakdown
and I believe Bryces incorrect interpretation of the law is the reason that the Boks lost
As to your question – I don’t really know
