Duane Vermeulen is out of the June Tests. Stormers strong man Duane Vermeulen returned home from the Stormers Super Rugby tour because of injury and conservatively won't play again until July. It could be that he is out for the remainder of the Super Rugby season as well because of knee ligament damage. Stormers loose-forward Rynhardt Elstadt is also out for at least six weeks as the Cape-based franchise's season went from bad to worse in Sydney. Vermeulen, Meyer's first choice No 8, will be nursed back to action for the Rugby Championship in August. His injury means a likely Bok start ... Read Article19 May 2013
GREGOR PAUL, in the Herald on Sunday, writes world rugby will get its integrated season after the 2015 World Cup and Super Rugby won't break to accommodate an international window. Super Rugby will shift to a March start and won't break for test matches, the June window will be shifted to July and all players will have a 14 to 16-week off-season. Other innovative plans are being discussed, such as building a world series of tests in years that fall between the World Cup and British Lions tours. The revolution that All Black coach Steve Hansen called for last week is coming. The players ... Read Article25 Apr 2013
Jan Serfontein, the player of last year's under 20 World Championship, will head the baby Boks defence in France. Serfontein and Kings wing Sergeal Petersen are two Super Rugby regulars to make Dawie Theron's squad and brilliant flyhalf Handre Pollard is another to play in a second successive tournament. Theron's squad lost a three-match series 2-1 to Argentina in Argentina. Serfontein, Petersen and Western Province's Cheslin Kolbe did not play in those matches. Bulls loose forward Ruan Steenkamp is captain. Serfontein and Pollard are the only two squad members from last year's ... Read Article14 May 2013
All Blacks coach Steve Hansen has selected several uncapped Blues players in his training group. Hansen confirmed 38 names and this included many from the potent Blues backline. The Highlanders, despite only winning one match in this year's Super Rugby competition, have six players in the group. An obvious area of weakness is at hooker where Hansen has selected veterans Andrew Hore and Keven Mealamu and Canes Dane Coles. Options are limited and it certainly is a concern for New Zealanders. No overseas-based players were considered, as it is NZRFU policy. Among the uncapped players ... Read Article15 May 2013
French coach Philipe Saint-Andre has included three South African-born players for the three-Test series against the All Blacks in New Zealand. Racing Metro flank Bernard le Roux and Clermont prop Daniel Kotze join Antonie Claassen in a squad that includes eight new caps. Fijian-born Clermont winger Noa Nakaitaci is among the newcomers. Saint-Andre has rested flyhalf Francois Trinh-Duc, but included Toulon's Frederic Michalak. France play world champions New Zealand on June 8, 15 and 22 in Auckland, Hamilton and New Plymouth respectively. French super club Toulon's foreign dominance ... Read Article5 Mar 2013
MARK KEOHANE writes the Varsity Cup in its first year rocked. Since then it's just another professional tournament. The Varsity Cup may have the innovation of doing a few things differently, but what was supposed to be a celebration of student rugby somehow just seems like another tournament, in which the traditional power houses remain the traditional strengths in the tournament. Much has been made of the Port Elizabeth-based Nelson Mandela University display this season and equally there has been bewilderment at how poor Shimlas have been. But it seems the old one two of Stellenbosch University ... Read Article12 May 2013
Marcus Watson scored in extra time to beat the Blitzbokke in the London World Series Sevens Cup quarter-finals. The teams were level 14-all at full time. Watson's try came four minutes into extra time. England won 19-14. England had the chance to win the match with the last play of the game in normal time. They were awarded a penalty and opted to take a drop kick for goal. It missed. Watson then rounded off a move after England had retained possession for two minutes. South Africa suffered further embarrassment when they lost for a second time in the tournament to the USA and were eliminated ... Read Article8 Jan 2013
Limpopo will play in the Vodacom Cup as a separate side for the first time this year. The region, which is a sub-union of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, has been granted a place in the tournament in its own rights to help foster rugby in South Africa’s far north. They join the 14 provincial unions as well as the returning Pampas XV from Argentina in the tournament, which kicks off in the second week of March and concludes in mid-May. The Polokwane-based Limpopo team will play in the North Section of the competition, along with the Blue Bulls, Golden Lions, Griffons, Leopards, Pumas, Valke ... Read Article20 Oct 2011

@Skeppie(Skeppie)-544: Why do you support the Boks, and not another team?
20 Oct 2011, 13:55 pm
Don’t have time for your answer. Have a good day.
20 Oct 2011, 13:55 pm
@rossoneri(rossoneri)-540:
cool… go well…
i really do respect you and your views BTW…
20 Oct 2011, 13:56 pm
@Lions_is_kak_kak_honde_honde_kak(suffer_guy)-545:
I will go. You guys shout me over to SA and i will wear that AB jersey with pride.
20 Oct 2011, 13:57 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-530: Yeah I can’t disagree with that, I have seen silly, arrogant posts from all nationalities, we Saffas are certainly not guilt free when it comes to that. I have been trawling this site for years now (since it started), just never really posted untill now. The **** served up in 2009 when we cleaned up the AB’s was drivel, the fact is since 1992 the AB’s have been a better (not by a big margin though) side than us on average so people who made those statements were just taking the chance to have a dig without remembering that rugby always ends up being a great leveller.

@cane(cane)-550:
We must just remember, the last time the kiwis played the boks, they lost.
That will make the Boks world champs if the kiwis win this weekend!!
If the French win, Tonga will be the best team in the world
20 Oct 2011, 13:59 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-547:
Keep telling those friggen Frogs they are underdogs.
It’s heart that will win.
And if the Froggs wake up on sunday morning with heart.
WHO KNOWS.
20 Oct 2011, 13:59 pm
@rossoneri(rossoneri)-546: and you belong in an AB jersey, yep each to their own. Weird! 2 wrongs make a right. Weird. Its a strange strange world we live in master Jack.
20 Oct 2011, 14:00 pm
@rossoneri(rossoneri)-551: I dunno, I suppose it’s an inbred patriotic thing…..I do know that as a pure rugby person there are certain teams I like and dislike but with the Boks I cannot really be impartial, just love the team because it is my countries team
20 Oct 2011, 14:01 pm
@Helen(Helen)-556: HAHAHA Great logic, I like that!
20 Oct 2011, 14:01 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-549: Nope. But 3N and S15 do have structural deficiencies built into them that precludes SA teams from competing fairly…
As a result of SARU being content to bend over and getshagged.
Interesting to see that the Argies aren’t so content with the dog-eat-dog nature of the negotiations in the SANZAR “partnership”.

Personally, I think the desperation from the kiwis stem from a serious case of Madiba envy.
I would be the same if my ONLY claim to fame was Sir Edmund Hillary who was carried to the top of Everest by a sherpa. Since then thousands of others have followed and taken some shine off his statues in Wellington Library Square
20 Oct 2011, 14:03 pm
@Helen(Helen)-556:
But ABs whacked the Boks in 2007 and 2008?
We werent stupid enough to claim that we are now the champs.
20 Oct 2011, 14:04 pm
@cane(cane)-557: But the Frogs have no heart… They are cheese eating surrendermonkeys, while Kiwis are bravery personified…
France are already waving the white flag… They are in white for the final, having conceded their strip already.
Nope, the incredibly brave All Blacks will win this hands down.
20 Oct 2011, 14:05 pm
@Skeppie(Skeppie)-555:
Cheers Skeppie.
You are correct, all nationalities pull out the rubbish sometimes.
Some more than others, and they stand out like dogs balls.
20 Oct 2011, 14:06 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-561: The S15 and Tri Nations have never been a level playing ground.
The reffing has always been a bone of contention for SA teams and it is proven week after week, when we get shafted. The Aussies and Kiwis are in cahoots have always been will always be.
If we had a Namibian ref, I wonder if the cheats and Oz would be happy?
20 Oct 2011, 14:06 pm
@Helen(Helen)-563:
Do any SA’s have an element named after them on the Periodic Table.
I rest my case.
Rutherfordiun.
20 Oct 2011, 14:06 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-564: Ja Hurricane but you cannot find flaw in Helen’s logic……the result of which leads to the boks being the best team in the world no matter what the circumstance…makes perfect sense doesn’t it?
20 Oct 2011, 14:07 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-565:
what are you on?
French are not giving up infact the believe they can win, i think they can as well. Seen it all before. Havnt the French beaten the Boks 3 times out of 6 games of late?
French in the final, cant argue that.
20 Oct 2011, 14:07 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-566: Yeah I agree…damn those aussies!
20 Oct 2011, 14:08 pm
Seriously, I’m Bryce himself, and anybody who can’t see how I cheated the Boks out of 2011 RWC is just as big a D I C K HEAD as I am! But now I’m a D I C K HEAD with an inflated bank balance and the NZRU has a deflated bank balance by the same amount., but I suspect the Ausies helped them out with that one.
20 Oct 2011, 14:08 pm
@cane(cane)-568: Are you talking about Ken? The slightly rotund but belly full of laughs Kiwi batsmen?
20 Oct 2011, 14:09 pm
@Skeppie(Skeppie)-569:
lol sure does, i just dont know what i was thinking
20 Oct 2011, 14:09 pm
@Skeppie(Skeppie)-571:
lol, you read my mind.
20 Oct 2011, 14:09 pm

@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-565:
Take the piss all you like HG.
The game starts at 0-0
History means nothing.
These Guys (frogs) are Pro’s.
To dismiss them is folly.
But you already know this.
20 Oct 2011, 14:11 pm
@cane(cane)-568: Our women folk have them all the time. Well periodically.
20 Oct 2011, 14:11 pm
@carol(carol)-516: No worries, Carol. That specific rendition (the 2011 six nations between Wales and England in Cardiff) is the best I’ve found. No interference from pesky opera divas or wannabe idols stars. Most intense singers in the Welsh line – Alun Wyn Jones and Jamie Roberts. And spare a thought for the bloke in the stands with the red face.
20 Oct 2011, 14:13 pm
@Connag(1112Connag)-578:
By look of some of these posts i dont think its only women that has them.
20 Oct 2011, 14:14 pm
I mean compare the teams
Front Rows:
Mas, Servat and Poux are no match for Tony, Kevvy and Owen. Not even close.
Second Rows:
Nallet and Pape are far inferior to Whitelock and Thorne
Loose Forwards:
Fark me, the mismatch of RWC history in Harry, Dusautoir, Bonnaire vs Reade, McCaw and Kaino
Halfbacks:
Not only are Yachvili and Padda about a quarter of the combined weight of Piri-piri Weepu and the Skateboard kid, but in terms of ability and temperament not even close.
Midfield:
Rougerie and Mermoz have surrendered already against the very best in the World of Nonu and Smith.
Back three:
The razzle dazzle is all black with explosive Dagg, Jane and Kahui. Le Detonateur, Clerc and Pallisson are a collective damp squibb.
Nope… absolutely… no doubt…. No chance
20 Oct 2011, 14:15 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-580:
Ma’a Nonu with his plucked eybrows and make-up has them too.
20 Oct 2011, 14:17 pm
#582
Suppose out of all the poeple here you would know who plucks eyebrows and wears makeup.
Takes a pro
20 Oct 2011, 14:18 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-564:
You should’ve.
Too late now
20 Oct 2011, 14:19 pm
@cane(cane)-577: You have a right to be nervous Cane, it’s a huge occasion for AB rugby but fear not, your boys will win this one.
20 Oct 2011, 14:20 pm
@Helen(Helen)-584:
hahaha
nice one Helen
20 Oct 2011, 14:20 pm
@cane(cane)-568: Yes we do.
[ Oh ] – the element of surprise.
20 Oct 2011, 14:21 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-583:
Quite right. Remember, I’m Bryce D i c k head Lawrence, I even know what he carries in his handbag, and what he uses for pre-menstrual cramps. Im quite “into” the team, and they into me, if you get what I mean!
20 Oct 2011, 14:21 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-581: And the you have the cauldron of Eden Park… 50000 AB fans baying for French blood… Nope, the French cant win there, they only won there last in 1994.
I reckon the tears you may see during the Anthems will be tears for collective French mummies.
The French will surrender… They always do.
20 Oct 2011, 14:22 pm
LOL there will be more people in the Sharks Tank with the Currie Cup Semi, than there will be at the RWC final!!
20 Oct 2011, 14:25 pm
#588
You are Bryce
Well i am honoured. You have picked a good site to blog on. These guys here love you, in fact HG might even fancy you.
But really i have one problem with you. You did cheat the Boks out of that game in the QF. They needed 80% of the ball to beat the Ozzies but you only allowed them about 70%.
I mean come on, what team in the world can win with 70% of the ball?
20 Oct 2011, 14:25 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-589:
Right now they’re probably negotiating honourable terms of surrender with the IRB, NZRU, McCaw and Joubert.
20 Oct 2011, 14:26 pm
@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-589:
hahahaha… I like the reverse psychology you’re employing here.
It’s like telling a toddler that brussel sprouts are made of honey
20 Oct 2011, 14:26 pm
maybe they should move the RWC final to SA?
20 Oct 2011, 14:27 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-580: Bugger so you have them too?
20 Oct 2011, 14:27 pm
For what it’s worth, Gadaffi seems to have been killed during capture, although this still needs official confirmation.
20 Oct 2011, 14:28 pm
@Hurricane(Hurricane)-591:
I would have stopped them from winning even if they had 120% of the ball. Don’t underestimate a good Kiwi cheat, laddie. For the boost to my finances I would have dstopped them or died trying!
20 Oct 2011, 14:29 pm
@Helen(Helen)-593:
Wow are brussel sprouts really made of honey?
20 Oct 2011, 14:31 pm
@>^..^< katman(katman)-596:
Holy ****, does that mean I may be next, with them killing off the d i c k heads?
20 Oct 2011, 14:31 pm
they also said Osama Bin Ladin is dead – but there he is captaining the Proteas!
