Schalk Burger, the 2011 SA Player of the Year, should be the cornerstone of the Springbok side in 2012 and beyond.
Burger, who first played for the Boks in a 2003 World Cup match against Georgia, enjoyed an outstanding tournament in New Zealand, exhibiting the same abrasive energy that marked him as a 20-year-old debutant. He also made use of the experience he’s accumulated over 60-plus Tests, as well as some recently acquired skills, to leave a lasting impression.
The next Bok coach will face the challenge of building a new team and a new leadership group. Burger is certain to be one of the pillars, if not a strong candidate for the captaincy itself. Some tough decisions will need to be made by the coach, and the ageing veterans may need to make way for the promising youngsters, but a clever man-manager will realise that Burger is the kind of player he can build his new team around.

The examples you mention are nationality, not skin colour.

The teacher snapped at the class, ‘Class, you should be ashamed of yourselves, Little Hodiaki isn’t from this country and he knows more about our history than you do.’
She heard a loud whisper: ‘F . . k the ****,’
‘Who said that? I want to know right now!’ she angrily demanded.
Little Hodiaki put his hand up, ‘General MacArthur, 1945.’
Now furious, another student yelled, ‘Oh yeah? Suck this!’
Little Hodiaki jumped out of his chair waving his hand and shouted to the teacher, ‘Bill Clinton, to Monica Lewinsky, 1997!’
Now with almost mob hysteria someone said, ‘You little ****. If you say anything else, I’ll kill you.’
Little Hodiaki frantically yelled at the top of his voice, “Michael Jackson to the child witness testifying against him, 2004.’
The teacher fainted.
As the class gathered around the teacher on the floor, someone said, ‘Oh ****, We’re screwed!’
Little Hodiaki said quietly, ‘The Springboks, 2011.’

Because they are insulting the person, not his race. Steve’s in tention was to not only insult Tiger, but insult his race. It’s the equavalent of saying the K word, or the N word. The intention whilst chatting with his white mates is to appear superior.

Just a quick one: can we still say someone is a black prostitute when their pigmentation and morals clearly point to such a fact? Or can we only use a colour when complimenting someone, ie. black angel, colored flyhalf, etc?

I am also still learning how to tread carefull around the sensitivities of the term “black”.
Aparently it is respectful, even encouraged, to refer to someone’s colour when they achieve great things “First black president”, “Black golfer” and “black professor”, but when someone is an ar$ehole or a slutt or a dingbat, their colour should not be mentioned at all, ever.

But – don’t ever, EVER pick him as opensider again.
Use him at 7 or 8. I prefer the latter and has done so for several years now.
Juan to slot in at 7 if fit, and Alberts to be the long-term solution at 4 lock.
I will also find a space for Josh Strauss somewhere in the 22.

which really… is the point…
what none of us do though… is pretend that racism does not exist… which is what most of the rest of the world does…
i also believe that the majority of us… black, brown and white are more rationally adjusted and less racist than just about anywhere else in the world you care to name…
sure we have our extremists on both sides… but they don’t represent the rest of their ‘color’… let alone the rest of the country…
so yeah… reckon the fact that we can talk about… even it heated or hateful terms… is better than ignoring it and not talking about it like the rest of the world…
