Bulls want Hougaard back

The Bulls are currently in talks with Saracens flyhalf Derick Hougaard about a possible return to the Pretoria franchise.

The former Springbok No 10 is reportedly keen on a move back to South Africa and wants to represent Bulls. He is currently contracted to English club Saracens but according to Rapport was in Pretoria last week to discuss the move with the Bulls management.

If Hougaard was to be contracted, he would at best sit on the bench for the Bulls during the 2012 Super Rugby tournament. The Bulls already have Bok flyhalf Morne Steyn on their books, and recently contracted Stormers pivot Lionel Cronje.

    @Transformation(Transformation)-296:

    It’s his second stint as a Protea. He played a couple of ODI’s a few years ago.

    And now this time he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands in the test arena. And made a real statement. Hope he has a great career.

    I can’t see that ending well either.

    Sounds like the final nail in the trifecta from hell.

    @Gunther(gunther)-302: Nah, Charl and Louis played together as kids, and they’ve been waiting many years to be reunited for the WC. It’s written in the stars for them to kick a$$.

    The problem with Saffa sportsmen (and this applies to rugby too) is that they lack killer instinct. They have the aggression, but not the ruthlessness. When your opponent is down, you need to put your foot on the throat and crush (if you have to be nice, send flowers to the widow). You don’t take your foot off the throat and say “Now don’t do it again”. Aussies couldn’t give a **** if people think they’re not nice – they play to win at all costs.

    Let’s hope so.

    I don’t think I could cope with another loss to the ozzmuts.

    @David(David)-303:

    ******* hell. Its a turn of phrase. The floodlights were on and they were casting shadows. The commentators saw fit to talk about it and mentioned it was getting dark and wondered if it would become a factor.

    You are a very petty man.

    Or perhaps you were the only person at the game?

    Reading the comments on several fora about today’s cricket result, there are FAR too many people accepting of the loss. Saffas have become too used to mediocrity … too many “we lost but what a terrific game” comments and not enough “how did we fail to beat at home the worst Aussie team in decades” questions…

    This affliction is starting to affect Bok fans too…

    I certainly wouldn’t be getting my knickers in a knot over a farcical ‘two-test’ purported ‘series’ that saw both teams with one win… that’s just not cricket…

    Particularly when the Protea had not played test cricket in 7 months.

    Fact remains their middle-order batting is not balanced and test teams in this era have to be able to bat down to 11…

    I see Mickey Arthur has emigrated and is the new Australian cricket coach.
