It is only an indication of how WEAK the Shark’s midfield strength really is that people are up in arm that Jacobs has left the Sharks. I mean, c’mon, Jacobs is a decent enough player but nothing to get your knickers in a knot over.

The Sharks seriously need to find some centre quality from somewhere. Bosman is useless and Joubert is over the hill big time (the new Oupa now that Terblanche has FINALLY retired).

You misunderstand my concern with WP Rugby.

It is not who is being bought and let go this year, last year or the year before – well not in the sense that you think.

There is quite a difference between contract and player management, and cattle trading – and WP rugby is following the latter example.

It is not who is bought and lost this year, it is the trend WP rugby has followed over the last 6 or 7 years which is clear for anyone who is willing to see, it obviously not working.

I would also recommend you listen to what some of the older ex-WP players are saying about the union, and how the union has lost its identity and culture.

The most important aspect when buying and ‘selling’ players is how it endorses or strengthens the union’s (note not just team or players) character and culture.

WP currently has none, they are just trading cattle.

Geez mate, I once said you were a sceptic, I withdraw my statement and replace it with ‘downright depressed’. WP has made some sh*t choices insofar as player management goes, but who hasn’t?

On the one hand everyone on the planet wants to give the youngsters a go to prove themselves, but on the other hand, everyone wants to scream if a team doesn’t hold on to its older players.

The new springboks has to come from somewhere, and the Currie Cup just isn’t good enough anymore, all your top players are withdrawn, so you have outstanding youngsters having to play in a second tier competition, in fact playing in a glorified Vodacom Cup.

Fact is, Superrugby is an ideal situation to start off a youngster these days, you always hear about guys being confidence players, which is a ball of ****, ANY player needs to play with confidence, if a youngster isn’t mentally tough enough to handle super rugby off a bench, he probably isn’t ready to play at all.

I would actually like to see Bolla Conradie play a few games this year and help mentor Duvenhage…the number 9 shirt is still a worry for me

It would have been nice to hold onto CJ Van Der Linde and Francois Louw…as I think the team would have been competetive with them in there

I would go for this stormers team as my strongest line up but this year alot of rotation will be needed..

Having said that, I dont think WP is the best option for his last few years as they already have Jacque and Juan. Adi should have moved to the Bulls last year and seen out his career there
