Well done to keo and all the fellow bloggers out there.

@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-386: I actually initally mis-read tenet of your post. I agree, that Germany taking on Russia was one of central factors in their loss. As to how things would have went were had they not invaded, I don’t really know enough about their respective strengths at the time. I actually did A-Level on some this stuff and was taught that the entry of the US into the war was the single-most important factor in victory but I personally lean toward it being a combination of factors. Churchill had all sorts of crazy (and ruthless) plans though, I’m confident he would not have let things go quietly.

@Heavens Game(Heavens Game)-400: 16000 tons of bombs dropped on 124 sq miles, most of it on Grand Harbour and the capital city Valetta. Malta is divided between the islands of Malta and Gozo; the island of Malta is 95 sq miles. You could have got these figures very very easily bud instead of going on nothing but your gut hunches and presenting no facts against established fact.

Try doing your own research – YOU are the one claiming mainstream accepted fact is wrong and the onus is on you to do your comparative studies. Otherwise anything you say on this is as leaky as Turnstile and Oupa’s defense.

Whether you like it or not, your gut plays no part in this. Malta was the most heavily bombed place in WW2 per square mile *shrugs*

As I said, I am not continuing this.

You’re quite right. Japan lost the war for Germany. The US Congress wasn’t prepared to get involved until then, other than to turn a blind eye to the reality of the Lend/Lease plan.

@Michael(mikeybrass)-413: No, no Mikey… No propaganda porkies now…

Let this humble janitor help out our “eminent historian”:

Malta is 316 km sqr and 16000 tons of bombs as you say equates to 50 tons/km sqr.

    Now lets see:

    Berlin @ 68000 tons…891 km sqr = 76 tons/km sqr

    Essen @ 38000 tons…210 km sqr = 180 tons/km sqr

    Munich @ 19300 tons…310 km sqr = 62 tons/km sqr

    Cologne @ 45000 tons…405 km sqr = 111 tons/km sqr

So your little propaganda history story of Malta being the most bombed place in WW2 by any metric is just that… a propaganda story…

This George Cross fairy tale….All exposed by little janitor me
