Scotland leg moves to Glasgow

The Scottish Rugby Union has confirmed that Glasgow will host the penultimate round of the Sevens World Series.

The announcement will see the Scotland Sevens move from its traditional home of Edinburgh to Scotstoun Stadium on May 5-6, 2012.

The move of the event from Edinburgh comes as the SRU looks to continue to grow rugby throughout the country, using the world-renowned festival atmosphere of Sevens to reach out to new rugby fans from the Glasgow area and beyond.

As Tacitus would say “I couldn’t care less whether Iceland or Irkutsk wins the Sevens” Dragons.

Glasgow is as bleak as Edinburgh is splendid.

Sevens rugby will yield gold, silver and bronze medals in the 2012 Olympics. It’s a very big deal for that reason alone.
