gotta disagree though about size but as a general statement you are correct. still little guys in the past have been big defenders (carter, cullen, lambie, tonyBrown, samTuitupou…obviously i’m a keewee) but they are rare

i assume thats Frans Steyn @ 12. no room for morne?
i’d trial lambie at 10. was real impressed with him at the WC. he stood out so much more than he did at super level. 10 has the same skill set as 15 and lambie has that xFactor but i’d keep morne around as his mentor.

I know the small guys can tackle, but they seldom put someone on their arse. A balance of larger players with some smaller players with flair would be better. It’s all about getting the balance right. I’d go for something like:

A few smaller players in the backline are fine, but too many and you have lost the game before you have even kicked off.
