Ireland has recalled the bulk of their World Cup campaigners to their Six Nations squad but still cannot find room for Luke Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald, omitted from their World Cup squad, has been in impressive form for Leinster. He has an opportunity to break into the Six Nations group through a strong performance for Ireland B against England on 5 February. Coach Declan Kidney said the match will be used as an opportunity to “look at one or two options” to plug holes in the squad.
Captain Brian O’Driscoll is the most notable omission. He is recovering from a shoulder injury that will keep him sidelined for the entire tournamenty.
