Rookie reinforcements for Ireland

Ireland coach Declan Kidney picked five uncapped players in his final 32-man squad for the Six Nations.

Center Eoin O’Malley, backrow Peter O’Mahony, prop Brett Wilkinson and wings David Kearney and Simon Zebo were promoted from the second-string Wolfhounds, while Leo Cullen got the axe from the original 24-man squad named last week.

Fullback Denis Hurley, lock Dan Tuohy and back rows Chris Henry and Rhys Ruddock have also been drafted into the squad for Sunday’s match.

Ireland open their campaign against Wales on Sunday and will name their match 22 on Wednesday.
