Brumbies shut out Force

The Brumbies kept the Force scoreless in their 25-0 victory in Darwin on Saturday.

Jake White’s side scored two early tries through lock Ben Hand and inside centre Christian Lealiifano, while flyhalf Zack Holmes nailed three penalties to establish a formidable first-half lead.

The wet and windy conditions affected the handling on both sides, but the Brumbies’ defence also impressed by keeping the Force at bay.

Utility forward Peter Kimlin was yellow carded in the second half, but the Brumbies maintained a high defensive standard to deny the Force any reward. Nic White kicked two penalties to complete the convincing win.

    I wish him well. The Brumbie defence was ruthless. That defence brought back memories of our finest games under Jake. Good start.

    Did the Brumbies kick and chase much?

    @daydreamer-3:

    The Brumbies played pretty well ball in hand, particularly considering the conditions. They were very dominant. They look more akin to the Waratahs of old.

    Their cardio was superb… result of starting the season 3 months earlier than everyone else not too mention the person-specific diets White has every contracted player on…

    This is the youngest, most inexperienced team in the comp and they looked like stars in the conditions…
