Blitzboks off to winning start
11 Feb 2012
The Blitzboks beat Uruguay and Wales in their first two matches on day one of the Las Vegas Sevens.
In their 29-12 win over Wales, the Springbok Sevens found themselves behind early in the game as Lee Williams scored a try. However, skipper Kyle Brown and IRB Sevens Player of the Year Cecil Afrika gave South Africa a 12-7 half-time advantage with scores before the break.
Afrika starred in the second half, completing his hat-trick while Frankie Horne also dived over to seal the win. Rhys Sellard grabbed Wales’ second try three minutes after the restart.
Earlier in the day, the Springbok Sevens thrashed Uruguay 35-0.
It was an easy outing for Paul Treu’s charges as they cruised to victory with five tries. Afrika grabbed a brace while Cornal Hendricks, Horne and Bernado Botha finished off the one-sided contest.
South Africa and France will face off in the Pool C decider later tonight.
Blitzboks’ fixtures:
South Africa 35 Uruguay 0
South Africa 29 Wales 12
South Africa vs France (23:05 k/o)

@Dawn-40:
guess i’ll have to
@ashampoopaloo-41:
jaaaaaa skop…
we all know stormers have no chance in super rugby this year… we know this… you have foretold it… along with the other experts… we’ll be lucky to be playing s15 next year…
so i can just relax and enjoy traipsing down to newlands to watch rugby and have a couple of beers after… it’s still all good…
but rather than cheering the other sides… I’ll stick with my team win or lose… successful or not… simply because they are my team…

Great White gets terribly upset when I talk un rugby-related stuff.
11 Feb 2012, 18:50 pm
Yay Guns calm down s only half time!
11 Feb 2012, 18:50 pm
you seem to be reading one hell of a lot of assumption into what people are saying.
I always support Stormers WP whether they act and think and make decisions like a bunch of dumb palookas or not.
Like Rassie / AC making Schalk Burger this stupendous monstrosity of a useless pivotal role player in Stormers and Boks back line.
So as long as Burger remains pivotal as the clown prince in the circus ring I don’t give Stormers all that much hope. Nevertheless I support them in spite of their idiocy and stupidity. As pitiful as it may be.
JdV or Bekker should be captain, not Burger. Just like Stander, Arno Botha and Van Velze are all better suited to Bulls development potential and cohesion than the show pony Spies, so too are Kolisi, Koster, Vermeulen, Carr all more valuable to Stormers cohesion and prospective potential than relying on the palooka one dimensional slow distributing pivot who stuffs every go forward ball into oblivion, just like he did for Boks through 3N and the WC.
Nevertheless, we see how things pan out,., if Burger can play a more assisting role than a fundamentally pivotal one, Stormers could stand a chance, but if AC decide to continue with that hopeless chief cook and bottle washer as the front line go to man, then I’m afraid to say no hope in hell.
11 Feb 2012, 18:51 pm
Italy couldn’t score beans under the overrated Nick Mallet.
11 Feb 2012, 18:52 pm
@clm-56: The weepee faithfull do quite a bit of b*tching about their loss of Sadie to the bulls on a weekly basis, they proclaim him to be the next Tigre Woods of rugby!
Hes a prospering prospect for the future, runs some good lines & decent ball skills, if he can keep the pace and work on his overall game can only improve.
11 Feb 2012, 18:53 pm
@Dawn-67:
O, okay, he has not said anything to me yet. Maybe because I suuport a great team
11 Feb 2012, 18:54 pm
@ashampoopaloo-69:
hehehe…
“I always support Stormers WP whether they act and think and make decisions like a bunch of dumb palookas or not.”
yet you celebrate them being beaten…?
forgive my confusion…
11 Feb 2012, 18:55 pm
@Dawn-68:
Dawnie always on me case!!
Yes I know its only half time but it is a pleasure to watch! – Worst case senario – France win the first half only to lose the second… Here’s to hoping they win them both!!
11 Feb 2012, 18:56 pm
ITALY******
11 Feb 2012, 18:56 pm
And some people wanted Mallet for Bok coach
11 Feb 2012, 18:58 pm
@ashampoopaloo-69:
Agree, it’s quite disturbing watching how weepee have butchered Schalks game play over the last couple years. It did work better when Flow was there though, he and Vermulin allowed schalk to run around like a headless chicken.
11 Feb 2012, 18:58 pm
No ufo you wrong there.
Skop is always scathing of mistakes made by stormers setup but never cheers a loss.
Analytical and clinical he is.
11 Feb 2012, 19:02 pm
@Dawn-78:
hehehe
that’s your opinion dawn… and you stick with it…
11 Feb 2012, 19:02 pm
have to agree with shampooboy……..burger is not much of a team man and too much of a one-man glory seeker.
11 Feb 2012, 19:05 pm
I mean critical not so much clinical.
11 Feb 2012, 19:06 pm
Guns!
How was the workout today?
11 Feb 2012, 19:09 pm
since when have I ever celebrated Stormers losses, you must be seriously confused?
I do get befok angry at the way they dissipate so much potential down the toilet through their lack of brainpower or strategics, or by pathetic player management in hanging onto dead beat passe hero’s while letting promising potential slip through their fingers, and I certainly won’t let closed patriotism blind me to the obvious flaws in their structures and strategies.
But I do not celebrate their losses in spite of me watching the train wreck unfolding due to the consistent clinging to the one dimensional patterns they have tried year on year for the past how many, continuing to make the same stupendous stupid decisions yet expecting different results, a sure sign of insanity in any ones language.
11 Feb 2012, 19:10 pm

11 Feb 2012, 19:10 pm

11 Feb 2012, 19:13 pm
Yes skop, there is a difference between critizise and celebrate.
You like to critizise.
11 Feb 2012, 19:13 pm
And england score.
11 Feb 2012, 19:13 pm
lucky Pom try. And I don’t think I’m being bias. But they all count.
11 Feb 2012, 19:14 pm
This may hamper Mallets prospects of claiming Eng head job.. Unless they blame Lancaster as a **** caretaker..
Oh but wait here the poms strike back..
11 Feb 2012, 19:15 pm
Hodgeson baling England twice in two weeks with charge down tries.
11 Feb 2012, 19:15 pm

11 Feb 2012, 19:18 pm
Italy have never looked so good.
Mallet was holding them back.
11 Feb 2012, 19:19 pm
@Dawn-96:
Impressive!
11 Feb 2012, 19:20 pm
@ashampoopaloo-83:
your posts have been know to confuse….
“Bulls too much overriding power class and control for same Cheetahs side that took Schalkies 2nd stringers apart last weekend.”
The post of a gloating bulls or cheetahs or sharks or lions supporter….? no your comment @ 41..
notice you don’t say “took us apart” “took our team apart” “took MY team apart” but took sckalkies team..
not really the words of a supporter or of ownership of your team now…
so my ‘confusion’ in based on your own statements… this and man many in the past…
IMO of course… and i’m wronger more often than i’m righter…
11 Feb 2012, 19:22 pm
@Mr Black-97: thats a big statement. Explain in more detail.
