France vs Ireland date confirmed
14 Feb 2012
The postponed Six Nations match between France and Ireland will now be played on 4 March.
The match was scheduled for last Saturday but postponed because the pitch was frozen. The Six Nations council said it was very regrettable to have to move the game to next month.
‘French and Irish ticket holders unable to attend the match will receive a full refund of their match ticket. Final details of the refund mechanism should be available tomorrow [Wednesday],’ the council said.
It was feared that because of the schedule clashes with the Top 14, the Six Nations Test would not take place until June. The French Rugby League had asked the Six Nations council to hold the game over until the end of the Top 14 season, pointing out that 10 out of 17 Top 14 weekends this season have already clashed with international fixtures, mainly due to the World Cup.
But having discussed the matter thoroughly, the Six Nations council decided on Tuesday that the game would go ahead on 4 March.
