Hobbs hit with yellow card

Blues flyhalf Michael Hobbs was issued with an off-field yellow card for a dangerous tackle following Friday’s match against the Crusaders.
The incident occurred in the 28th minute when Hobbs was penalised for a high hit on a Crusaders player. An off-field yellow card may be issued by the Sanzar citing commissioner for foul play incidents that are very close to, but in his opinion do not meet the red card threshold for citings.
In this case the incident was acted on by the referee for the match and on further review of the match footage the citing commissioner deemed an off-field yellow card was appropriate.

What is the penalty for this? The 10 minutes on-field penalty could not be effected – so what form of censure is on the individual and the team for such a ruling? Hobbs missing a game is not the same as him missing 10 minutes during a very close match.

I hope they’ll be consistent and issue Bismarck an off-field yellow for one of at least two high and dangerous tackles in tonight’s game.

What a pointless sanction. Like the officials need more ways to impose themselves. Citings are enough. If the match officials missed it and it is not worth a citing move on.
