Mortlock concern for Rebels
24 Feb 2012
Stirling Mortlock is in doubt for the Rebels’ opening game against the Waratahs next Friday.
The Rebels have been fortunate to enjoy a bye in Round 1 considering the injury situation, but coach Damien Hill has confirmed that Mortlock may yet miss the first game of the season. Wallabies fullback Kurtley Beale is on the mend, but the Rebels captain is still struggling.
‘Stirling’s calf injury is dragging on a little bit so we’ll wait and see how that pulls up – he’s probably 50/50 at this stage,’ Hill said.
Hooker Ged Robinson (also calf) is another who may miss the game against the Waratahs.
