CUT thrashed UKZN 42-4 while Wits and Fort Hare drew 10-10 in the seventh round of the Varsity Shield.

It was a close encounter in Bloemfontein as UKZN trailed by six points at the break. However, CUT ran riot in the second stanza, scoring 32 unanswered points to give Impis their fifth straight loss. Flanker Fans Sisita grabbed a brace for the hosts.

In Alice, Fort Hare and Wits both couldn’t land the killer blow as their match ended in a 10-10 stalemate.
