Kaino to miss SA tour

Jerome Kaino has been ruled out of the Blues’ matches against the Bulls and Stormers in South Africa.

Kaino, who is battling a shoulder injury, was never expected to be ready for Saturday’s game against the Bulls, but it was hoped that the All Blacks loose forward would recover for the second tour fixture. Unfortunately for the Blues, the medical staff has confirmed that Kaino will not be travelling to South Africa at all.

‘He is to have further MRI testing to assess the complete extent of the damage and once this information is known then decisions will be made on his treatment options,’ Blues doctor Stephen Kara told Fairfax Media.
